Have you played Azure Dreams?
It wasn't the best roguelike on the PS1, but it was the best available in the US when it was released. It had a certain charm to its character designs.

all I can think of is the torneko sequel, and azure dreams is better imo.

There were the chocobo dungeon games, but i put them below both Azure Dreams and Torneko.
