Hey anon, get the FUCK in here and tell us what /vr/-vidya you are playing and what you think of it

Currently going through Soul Blazer. Its a neat little action RPG, reminds of Zelda except with more focus on the combat. I appreciate how straight to the point it is - Combat is just positioning and timing, but its well exectued and feels nice despite not having a lot of depth. Digging the atmosphere and soundtrack a lot.

One thing that grates me a bit is the game doesn't always make it clear when you should return to town to talk to the NPCs you've rescued in order to progress; I currently just go through a dungeon until I hit an obvious wall and double back to town. Still, the concept is novel enough and some of the NPC interactions are pretty funny.

I soft modded my old Wii a long time ago and decided to start playing games again. currently playing through Yoshi's Island on Snes. I grew up more with ps1 so I'm going to be getting that emulator set up on my Wii

I played it on level 5 difficulty and I will never play an rpg or something like that (FY).
I will never play a single video game in my life, I am learning chess to play online.

I beat Megami Tensei 1 for the Famicom today. The level curve in that game is kinda weird and during the final 10 hours I was running from every encounter because I was max level. Map making was fun, heres a floor from one of my maps.

Fire Emblem - The Sacred Stones. First time playing through on hard. It can be quite difficult if you want it to be. I wish there were more franchises like these, besides shining force. Hopefully, with the way technology is advancing, it will make it more easier for developers to optimize retro style games.

I've been playing Capcom Generations Disc 2 on PS1.
It's a compilation of the three makaimura titles (ghosts n goblins, ghouls n ghosts, and super ghouls n ghosts)
Pretty fun so far. What I've found is that ghouls n ghosts is super fast while super ghouls n ghosts is kind of slow and feels worse. Probably due to being made for snes hardware...

I'm playing the pseudo-retro monster hunter freedom unite (ps2 port, dope game), trials of mana (it's so tiresome, the only good 16b arpg is terranigma), and mega man battle network 2 from time to time (nice game, very recommended).
