Just how much of an influence did Nintendo got from Toriyama, really?
I was watching original DB again and this part hit me, it's the fucking mushroom kingdom.
Not sure which one came first though because while the very first chapter of the DB manga was released in late 1984, most of the rest was during 1985, same year as Super Mario Bros., and the DB anime was in 1986.

Nintendo steals and denies it all the time. It's nothing new. You think they took design ideas from a popular manga? Sure as shit they did.

Lots of games took inspiration from anime/manga back in the day.
Some more blatant than others obviously.

Kid Goku DB + Piccolo Jr and Vegeta was the best shit ever.
A lot of the games back in the days took inspiration from Toriyama, Miyazaki and Star Wars so it's no surprise

>Kung-Fu Master was a highly influential game. It is regarded as the first beat 'em up brawler, and an early example of the side-scrolling character action game genre, which became popular during the mid-to-late 1980s. Miyamoto's work on the NES port inspired his development of the side-scrolling platform game Super Mario Bros. (1985), while Nishiyama was hired by Capcom where he used the game's boss battles as the basis for the fighting game Street Fighter (1987), before working for SNK on fighting games such as Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters. Kung-Fu Master also influenced other media, such as the Red Ribbon Army saga (1985–1986) of the manga and anime series Dragon Ball, as well as the French film Kung Fu Master (1988).
Sort of off topic but still, video game trivia time

Miyamoto mentioned Arale was an inspiration for Mario in an interview.
Why so obsessed with NINTENDO anon?

Come to think of it, if you fugg Gotenks (or Gogeta), can you say you fugged both of then at once? Does it count as two fugs?

Also, if they fug a woman and get her pregnant, will the baby genes from the father side come from mishmash of genes, or will it be exactly 50/50?

I remember original DB being an epic adventure with a more light-hearted, comedic tone than Z. I watched like ten episodes per day every day until I was finished.

I've always wondered what the brain process behind this shit is. Like you don't start watching other TV shows from Season 2 for no apparent reason, right?
Yes it's well worth watching, it's like early One Piece. A very charming adventure anime with some cool fights towards the end. And I mean actual cool fights not regular powerlevel shit

I'll need to check it out. Finished DBZ 100% a few months back so I'm burned out on it at the moment but I'll eventually give it a shot.

I watched probably a 1/4 of the series growing up off from seeing it on tv. Most of the Namek arc for sure. Needed to finish it and fill in the gaps. Not saying it wasn't but I have never seen the original DB aired here in the US.

The first 13 episodes are the pinnacle of Toriyama’s career. Everything after that is good too but the first 13 have an incredible energy to them.
