I finally made it to Antarctica in Tomb Raider 3.
Holy shit did I not like the London levels. They looked pretty but they were such a chore to play.
Nevada was fine. India and South Pacific I enjoyed.

All in all it has been fun, but there are things I dislike. I hate that they took away the icons that showed you what you picked up and the save crystal system sucks. I have been very conservative with mine and I always havehad +15 of them. Guess I don't have to save them anymore.

I dropped TR2 hard at the Venice level. What a weird level. I wonder if TR3 is better. I know you're in a prison cell at one point cause I had a demo of it

Overall I think I liked 2 better than 3, but 3 does have great moments too. I'm not fan of the vehicle levels.
2 gets better after Venice.

i glad someone else liked the way Lara said NO if you put in cheat codes like level skipping

Finally beat this game.
Holy shit that final boss was a shitshow. My shitty 3rd party controller made it into a bigger mess.

Kek, I remember that. Thanks anon, now it's stuck in my head

Is it better than TR1? That's the only one I've played and finished.

what's the normal reason for this voice line? I have the tr2 demo and when I load one save she says NO. but nothing in particular is happening

Tomb Raider 1 remains one of my favorite games of the era. But 2 and 3 were massive disappointments. They take the focus away from exploring and solving puzzles with the odd bit of action coming in as a highlight to going through more urban, new environments with a lot more combat. My favorite part of the first game was that it was full of tombs that you raid, the sequels are more about shooting goons in London and Venice.

It's to tell you that the game understood your command but refused it. Like if you try to put the wrong key in the wrong keyhole

I wish I had and not kept playing hoping in vain each new level might actually be fun.

Lara would give you a stern "No" if you tried to enter the wrong hole.

Like >>10818314 , TR1 is one of my favorite games on the PSX. TR2 and 3 are neat sequals in that sense, that they ramp up the difficulty from 1. For whatever reason they started to focus on combat, which has never been good in these games.

TR3 is a mixed pack. I enjoyed the jungle levels, but the urban levels weren't that great. TR1 still remains my favorite. 4 I have never touched beyond the demo, since I was kinda tired of TR when it came out. I also disliked that it focused only on 1 setting.
