What was your setup for playing video games as a kid?
In my case it was a Genesis sitting on top of a wood cabinet TV from the late 70s with RF input.

A TV quite similar in style to that one, at first in my play room/foldout couch bedroom where I'd either stand or sit on the floor to play, then later in my bedroom, where I'd either sit on my bed or on the floor with my back to the bed.

TV in my bedroom, computer in my parent's room
Later on the house got bigger, I got a new room and my old room was now an "office" with both the TV and a new computer while the old computer was set up in the basement (extremely comfy). In my new room I'd just use GB/GBC/GBA

I wish I had a photo of our old entertainment center. We had something like this, but it also had a narrow swing-out cabinet on the left side for VHS tapes.

First gamer TV was a black and white TV about 10 inches big. It was my Mom's from her high school years in the seventies.

In the 80's we upgraded TV to a remote control so I inherited the old living room Zenith. It was big and heavy but had color.

Didn't get a TV until my own 30 somethibg inch CRT years later but used it up through the PS2 era.

Now I have close to an 80 inch flat screen that I use filters on to play pretty much exclusively old games. I have two X's and a switch but nothing is as fun as random games on Launchbox.

I stayed at a motel in the 2010s that had a newer TV stacked on top of an older zenith cabinet. When I checked in they had told me the bottom one was for sound, the top one was for picture. This was in the Midwest in the middle of nowhere.

She told us the next day that they're not really a motel, more like camping with electricity lol

Through the 90s, it was an entertainment center kind of like this >>10812286, but at some point instead of shelves on the side it was a more open spot that my parents put a smaller TV for me so neither of us would hog the only tube.
When we moved in the early 2000s, I got the small TV put in my room, which was exciting. Eventually I got a bigger one and the small one got moved to the kitchen - that was nice, because I could watch something while doing dishes. If I had a friend over, or wanted to watch Adult Swim while gaming, I'd move the little one into the living room and put it on a snack table or something. It only had RF on it, so I played a lot of PS1 through RF just because I wanted to watch cartoons at the same time.

Wasn't actually expecting to find the one I had as a kid. I do remember a picture of myself playing Dragon Warrior fighting a Ghost. I remember having to argue with my mom to take that picture because she thought it was stupid (kodak camera, so all pictures had to count in my parents eyes due to the budget). I remember thinking it would make me look cool lol.

Up until 1998, i only gamed on pc and handhelds. Then when i got a 64 for Christmas, i also got a small composite set with built in vhs. Used that set all through the 2000s. Unfortunately now it will auto shut off because i think the vhs part is fucked.

Got a cheap ikea computer desk for it which i also had a buch of systems on from 6th gen or ones i missed out on as i picked them up. Also had my families old rf only set which i used for Atari type stuff and sometimes nes and ps1. Had some old computers like a TRS 80 Model 3 and IBM XT. Also had a virtual boy on the perfect sized table for it for zero neck ache.

A early 80s color 21'' TV, fake wood grain sides, only a VHF tuner but did have a coaxial connector.
Not the same model or brand but was similar to pic related, each channel was it's own push button on the right side of the tube.
This TV was THE battle station all the way up to the early 00s. Went from the Commodore 64, to the NES, SNES, PSX, N64, and finally a PS2 on the thing.

From getting my PS1 in 2000 up to getting a Xbox 360 in 2009, I had this old ~20 inch Teac which used to be the family TV. I don't know how old it was when Mum and Dad got it, but it was certainly older than me ('92).
It allegedly had a remote at some point, but I never saw it. It only had one AV input, which was mono, and you had to flip a toggle on the back to switch between TV and AV. The speaker would occasionally shut off, and you could turn it back on by either power cycling the TV or giving the chassis a smack.
I was a dumb bastard growing up, so it never occurred to me to switch the audio on games to mono. I played a ton of Tony Hawk's Underground 2 on this TV, and I'm still not used to hearing "Break On Through" by The Doors in stereo.
When I got my Xbox 360 with COD 4, I had to adjust the vertical hold all the way to get it to display properly. Trying to play Dead Rising on that thing was a wake up call that I needed a new TV.
I really wish I could find out what that TV was, just so I could see the remote it was supposed to come with.

It was a black, steel two-shelf thing. On the lower shelf was my PS2, on the top was a big, old CRT. My mom later threw the CRT away and bought a similar sized LCD TV. She said it was because the CRT was "too old and redundant". I wish I had kept it.

Mega Drive (and later PS1) plugged into a VCR, connected through RF to absolutely ancient soviet TV in a wooden frame (that thing lived and worked fine until like 2006 when my parents just threw it away).
I also sometimes routed the audio into a boombox for better sound and to record game music to tapes.

>Got the family Samsung which was from grandparents, maybe a 24" or so. Same otherwise.

>moved games downstairs to large 56" projection we got for free from neighbors, had a GameStop AV switcher and had gamecube, N64, Wii, PS1, NES by that point thru it/other inputs on the TV, Genesis still over RF.
