Absolutely a great time to sit down with a couch full of mates and have a good laugh at its over the top references. The minigames are heavily skill based and can get super competitive, and the main sets/levels have a scripted sequence to happen as the director barking orders and weaving his vision of the film for you to act in, so your main combat to kill each other the most over the scene brings most of the variation. Finally there's the main campaign and challenges, which all reuse the levels and minigames but throw more enemies or give tight restrictions like not getting hit or not jumping which give the game most of its single player legs.

Fuck I love Kung Fu Chaos. I'm going to replay it now.

Carve is an exclusive jet ski racing game by Argonaut. I always recommend this one to fans of Wave Race, the focus on tricks to build up a boost makes for a fun and risky playing dynamic beyond the usual buoy weaving. It's a late Xbox release and is clearly built around the power of the console so the visuals have a really high end look with lots of colorful shader effects and detailed environments and effects that feel distinctly Xbox.

It's not because of that, Gamecube could handle physics engines just fine, third-parties just didn't want to compete with Nintendo's own lineup on the console. They had evidence to back that up too, since very few non-Nintendo games could manage even 800,000 units sold (a big number back then).

This one is kinda interesting because it completely overshadowed Second Sight when it came out only for the inverse to happen these days.

I remember this being pushed quite hard in the official Xbox magazines and playing a demo of it which I remember enjoying enough. Then after it launched I never heard about it ever again.
Granted I only really paid attention to it at all because I was a horny kid and the girl on the cover gave me a hard on.

I actually finished this back in the day so it can't have been that bad. I'll have to revisit it sometimes even if just for nostalgia's sake.

This game is cool and underrated. I think it and pic-related only flopped because the Xbox was oversaturated with 3D fighters in its first year and they were all overshadowed by DOA3.

>>10815905
This game is also shockingly good. One of the better games based on a TV series from that era.

The demographic for 3D platformers shifted in the 2000's when kids were getting their hands on games like Halo and GTA and publishers tried to capitalize on that by upping the edginess drastically. A few were actually successful (Jak 2 and 3, Ratchet & Clank, and the Ty sequels to some degree) but most were critical or commercial flops (Shadow the EDGEhog, Vexx, etc.)

Tao Feng is a bit more debatable but Kakuto Chokin is fine if a bit unremarkable. You can tell it's just another cousin of Tekken like Tobal but not as memorable because the visuals lean more into tech than art style.
