the best remake in the set is megaman 3, which is only on par at best with the original

megaman 1 is a little inferior and megaman 2 is a straight downgrade

the wilys tower addition is nice but not essential

For a newcomer they're probably alright, but as someone who played the originals to death the fact that they messed up the AI of a good half of the robot masters makes them virtually unplayable.

i picked this up from a pawnbrokers back in like 98 for $10...it looked and sounded great, but controlled like shit. i still go back to it every few years incase im misremembering, but nope..it definitely controls like shit :(

It's fucking trash because of the slowdown but if you want more classic Mega Man and have already played the originals then go for it. But if you are just getting into Mega Man then fuck no, play the originals first. There are also bonus levels that you can unlock by beating all three games which is nice

Ironically this version of 3 plays better than the original. You notice it immediately when you fight Spark Man and you can actually dodge his big attack with relative ease since the hitbox isn't completely fucked.

I beat MM1 in WW and loved it.
But I also modded the fuck out of it, there's a mod that adds faster shooting and movement. And an SRAM mod. And then ontop of that you can use emulator latency options to reduce the weird input lag

Also beat MM2 the same way but honestly I thought it was awful. Not even from a comparative point of view because I've never really liked the NES games and don't have nostalgia for them, but because it just felt like a downgrade from 1 design-wise

Wily Wars is worth it for Wily Tower at least. The levels aren't very difficult, but it's fun being able to use weapons from all three games.
