Mainly visuals and gameplay, but if anything can cause sensory overload then it works.

Only game I can think of is Recca. That and Tempest 2000.

In Ren & Stimpy Time Warp on SNES there's one particular section where you're flying in a time machine and it can look pretty intense for a brief period if you do it right

You get a time machine after completing the first section of the game and the next section is flying it to another location. The intense bit is at 22:00 in the video here and only goes for about 30 seconds

I had a look for a few videos but I couldn't find one where the person playing didn't crash a few times during it, but it's pretty hard because you have to manually fly the time machine. But i remember playing it ages ago and felt like my brain was going to explode from it because of how fast those background images fly at the camera
