Is there an actual system seller for the 32x?

Close to perfect arcade ports of Afterburner and Space Harrier is all i can think of. Thank God SotN never came out on it as planned or else it would be another Rondo and cost a boatload.

No, why do you think Sega didn't sell any systems and were seriously considering how much money they could get by selling entire warehouses of Genesis and 32x consoles for electrical scrap?

>>10780795
>knuckles and chaotix
Literally the only exclusive worth a damn for the 32x and it's just a shitty vertical Sonic experiment that failed so hard, Sega likes to pretend that it doesn't exist except for that one time some of the music was allowed to be remixed for Sonic Generations for the sole fact that it was the anniversary game.

They made an entire game mode bsed around Chaotix for Mania which also included one of the characters from Chaotix.

Virtua Racing Deluxe is really good, but you might find not enough value is a racing game with five tracks and three cars.

There was Pinocchio which was canned. Still the best version of that game though.

Arcade ports for a system that has no games? Why? Sure some of them has some nice demake aesthetics but it's useless really.

Cosmic Carnage and Metal Head sold it for me.
As na adult? I don't own a 32X anymore but I like Tempo and Kolibri, and still think Cosmic Carnage is cool.
There's also that one shmup

As a kid, I only wanted one for Knuckles Chaotix. Never got it.

I later got one in my early 20s after I found one in a pawn shop (wasn't even looking for it), along with a bunch of other games I wish I had gotten to enjoy as a kid.

-After Burner Complete
-Kolibri
-Primal Rage
-Shadow Squadron
-Space Harrier
-Virtua Fighter
-Virtual Racing Deluxe

I eventually did get Chaotix too, and while I understand it's not an amazing game, I still really enjoy playing it.

How much more would it have cost per-unit to make 32X a standalone console instead of needing Genesis to be not much more than a TV adapter?

It would have been asking people who already owned a Genesis to buy yet another video game console that could also play Genesis games, so that wouldn't have helped.

It kinda makes sense. Even if you had a PC back then a lot of them couldn't run it that well. My tech-savvy friend did his best to optimize my settings and it still ran like ass on my PC. And the 32x was a lot cheaper than a high-end computer so that was one selling point.

Although the problem was the 32X version was still missing some shit and had some gimped audio. It was a pretty good port but considering it wasn't the best version of the game available and it was ported to fucking everything it just wasn't going to drive interest in the add-on by itself. But at least it was a decent game for the 32X. It didn't have many

I like Virtua Racing a lot. Chaotix has really cool music that made me wish there was more games to use all those extra sound channels around. Admittedly the reason I got the 32X was because it was so inexpensive at the time.

Is the 32x region free? Or do you have to do something special for Space Harrier? Also, I think you should invest in one of the 32xCD games just to say you have one and can truly unleash the Genesis' final form on some unsuspecting house guests.

I finally got all the cords that I need...but I can't get the 32X to play anything. I tested to make sure that it wasn't a bad connection, but it doesn't seem to be the case and the model 1 was working fine with the two carts I was testing with (Virtua Racing and the original Megadrive V2 before the name change to X7). I am using a non-TMSS Model 1 and the only thing that is non-OEM is this AV cord I bought from amazon so that I could have proper stereo since the model 1 cord only comes with the yellow and white plugs (and getting around to having to use the headphone jack at the front). I'm wondering if there is compatibility issues with older Model 1 variants (like the non-TMSS ones). The 32X I got is the original version, and it appears that someone else might've had the same issue on here: https://forums.atariage.com/topic/353511-genesis-console-va3-non-tmss-with-32x-compatibility-issues/
I got a model 1 VA7 at my parents house, I'm going to check that later this week when I'm over there to see if that's the case. Anyone else ever run into this issue before?
>>10785242
oooh nice! I hope that gets finished, I'll definitely play that!
>>10786672
Yeah, I was checking into those since then and it looks like a lot of work has been done. I'm going to check that out too once I figure out what's up with my 32X.

>> No.10787103

>>10787096
The Genesis version of Virtua Racing doesn't work with a 32X connected because the SVP uses the same data lines as the 32X so they conflict.

>> No.10787118

>>10787103
Good to know, thanks! Sadly I left my entire collection out there when I left (since there was no way to play VR on Mega Everdrive at the time), so I have to grab those too just in case. I heard something that the Mega Everdrive might need more power to run, so I'm hoping it's not a dying power supply from the 32X side. It was making a noise when no cartridges were connected (but stopped once they were slotted in).

>> No.10787132

>>10787096
The 32X is the most finicky attachment of all time. Mine works but I have to reinsert it over and over about a hundred thousand times before it decides to work. Once I get it working I usually leave it hooked up but whenever I need to take it out for something that isn't compatible when its plugged it I always think twice about it. It probably works fine you just really have to put the effort in of taking it out and back in and power cycling for like half an hour.
