Some of the stuff in Super Mario Land was used in future Super Mario Games. Nintendo has always grabbed generously from their own treasury.

Mario Wonder and Super Mario 3D World had some stuff in it that came straight from there. It had good music too, they could've recycled a bit more from that already.

I'm still under the impression that a lot of 3rd Party companies realized how much money they could make if they just released their retro stuff on their own after Nintendo made bank with the original Virtual Console on the Wii. That and they don't want people double dipping; the Wii U and 3DS eShops were still open up until a year ago and Nintendo could barely convince them to give up their licenses again for those services.

So Nintendo has to lean heavily on its own library and it's not about to showcase the cheapest looking Mario game they ever published headline their Game Boy service. If SML1 ever gets on there, it'll be with the other GB launch titles.

Dream Land is indeed short, but it's also more challenging on the second run with more variety - and doesn't literally repeat screens within seconds of you seeing it last.
I'm not telling anyone they can't like Super Mario Land and I'm not saying it shouldn't be on the service, I just think saying those three games aren't "half as fun" as it is certifiably insane.

At the end of day, it's not getting added for the same reason why Wario Land 1 or 2 haven't been added: they just want the most polished games in the franchise on to represent the series. Hell, I'm sure the only reason why Kirby 1 is on there is because Kirby is essentially Nintendo's portable console mascot after Pikachu.

Dream Land is an actually good game tho.

Both it and Mario Land are really short, but Mario Land plays a terrible tech demo (because it is) whereas Dream Land was Sakurai squeezing as much juice as he could out of a tiny cartridge and it shows.
