Also SNES thread. Recommend games I should play especially complex snes games

it's clearly not a snes thread, it's a shitty batman game thread

I hate zoomers so much. Come up with original opinions for once

He raised a valid point about the grappling hook, though. I played this as a kid in a party, and we didn't have the manual, because the damn kid bought the game loose, so we never made it past the first stage, because we could not figure out the grappling hook combo on our own. It is not very intuitive, seriously doubt you can figure it out without the manual (before the internet caught on), because the game did not tell you shit about the control combos, at least not the SNES version.

Yeah other versions are better but this game is still pretty shit desu but something about it intrigues me. I like the gadgets and the sprite work

No, it was shit then and it's shit now. I played it year of release and got stuck on the grappling hook part just like everyone else who didn't have the manual. The retard-tier control scheme made that section even worse than the Sonic 3 barrels (which I got past the first time no problem).
If you had the manual that probably means you actually bought it, which is something that you should be embarrassed about.

>complex snes games
what do you mean by this ? Like RPGs, or just games with lots to do or something

>> No.10762278

Doubt it, there has never been a good game with digitized graphics, they were always underwhelming games that relied on a gimmick to draw attention that only was effective for a short period in the 90s.
Like Mortal Kombat, I liked them as a kid but as an adult I know they are just immensely inferior to the cream of the crop of that era and only stood out because of the digitized graphics and violence but not because of gameplay.
It's the go to for mediocrity of that era.

I like the Sega CD version with the cool driving sections

Appropriate. You guys should go back to the shilling Mario, Metroid, Zelda strategy, it works out a lot better for you that way.

the game is a cool idea desu
>wat if beat em up...
>but mortal kombat?
batman license is kind of just ancillary, but i guess it allows for more gadgets

the problem is the controls are fucking nightmarish. were talking literal fatality inputs to execute very simple moves
you cant just 1:1 plop a beat em up into a fighting game engine. worse still, since it was MK2, it retains all of the bullshit input-reading that game had

its a very very bad game, but i still argue this kind of idea is the way forward for beat em ups as a genre
it just needs to be streamlined a little and made less fucking awful

My friend had that. Looked it up; yeah the "sountrack" is the worst piece of garbage I've ever heard. It's painfully bad.

for one, i doubt zoomers watch/watched the nerd
zoomers literally cant even with obscenities. you say fuck like 3 times and they start literally shaking
you can forget about them sitting through a whole AVGN episode

but moreover, even as a 12yo i could see it was obviously just a bit
if anything him showcasing lesser known titles likely got a lot of kids to try games they otherwise never wouldve even heard of

>have this as a kid
>think it's great
>loved it
>played the shit out of it
>find out years later from the internet that it's bad

At least the version I played didn't have the grapple hook problem. And I'm sure that most people who disparage the game don't realise that there's some actual moves you can use to incapacitate and fuck up your opponents.
For example the shock gun thing can lay out an opponent for a few seconds, there's a roll move you can use to cheese your way out of getting gangbanged and you can grab opponents for an arm breaker or toss move.
I think that the music and graphics are uniquely fantastic. On the Sega version anyway...

I played it on MegaDrive, it's literally a game made on the Mortal Kombat 3 engine, so fights are ok more or less, everything else is junky as hell. But it was short and didn't have gameplay variety
