A lot.
The difference between the Genesis and CPS2 version of Super is huge, and then there is everything added in the ST update.

This was my most sought after game to play from when I first read about it in gamepro in 1994 until I was finally able to play the PlayStation version included in Street Fighter Collection in 1998.

When I was a kid I'd stand in the PC gaming aisle of Wal-mart and gaze at the front and back of the PC version of the game and just wonder...

Made a little chart of the difficulty between versions.

The PC DOS version is about the same difficulty as the PS1 and Saturn versions, however it has completely different A.I. patterns and the scale goes from 1 to 12.
12 is still not very difficult to complete.

I finally got around to playing this PC port a few years back... its hot fucking garbage.
I really wanted it back in the day and I'm now glad I saved myself from the disappointment.

Yup.
Although it has a good soundtrack, one which I ripped and applied to the Dreamcast version so now I can play a decent port of the game with different music when I get in the mood for it.

When I was a little kid I would rent Streets of Rage 2 and 3 from a place called Bob's Market and play it with my grandpa, who always picked Blaze. For some reason we called that game "Street Fighter".

The first Super Street Fighter II X national championship in Japan was sponsored by Gamest.
Various qualification tournaments were held throughout Japan.
The finals of the tournament were played on a Capcom Q Grand AM 24 cabinet, playing side by side. The winner was Foosuke!

Foosuke won with Dee Jay.
He became a fixture in the Japanese FGC and often serves as MC and commentator for tournaments.

Foosuke returned to competition for the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary tournament where he faced off against the famous winner of the 92 Street Fighter II Turbo console champion, Nagano Sagat!

Some of the earlier entries in the national championship would have been played on Capcom OOB-60 cabinets that had been converted over from Super to 2X. Here is a photo of such cabinets back when they were being used for The Tournament Battle. But in the lower right corner there is a photo of one of the 2X qualifier tournaments.

I remember playing at a tournament for the original Super Street Fighter 2 and they had an early build of Super Turbo running. The yellow flash was not only for super attack finishes, but any special attack finishes. There was one guy that had a great run on the beta machine while the tournament was ongoing. This poster was from that very tournament.
