What was the best mission?

What was the worst? (No, you're not allowed to say the unmatched Zero RC plane mish. I finished that in two or three tries. It's not my fault you were an uncoordinated 10 year old.

I really dug the one where you chase that lil bitch OG Loc on the go karts but a lot of people hate that one for some reason? It was dumb fun.

Does it count as cheating if I just jumped the dirtbike off the elevated platform over the train lines, landed on the train and took those cholo fucks out at point blank range?

>> No.10716165

>>10716132
I think that's why I did as well. I never found the mission difficult because there's lots of ways to cheese it instead of following the 'intended' route.

Going undercover as valet is cool
Worst is the forklift mission or the model helicopter mission

>> No.10716273

Best Mission: Tie between Cop Wheels and Vertical Bird.
Cop Wheels is effectively a GTA stress test for the player. You have 12 minutes to steal four police motorcycles and park them on the semi truck driving around the nearby highway, all the while facing increasing pressure from the police. You need to be fast, dodge police, and it helps to know of nearby bribes on the map. There's no gimmick here, you just need to be good enough to pull it off.
Vertical Bird has you flying the Harrier jet and participating in a dogfight. It's a blast flying the jet, and the dogfight is either fun or hilarious depending on if you decide to cheese it.
Worst Mission: Tie between Cesar Vialpando and Life's a Beach, both of which force you to do the stupid DDR-like minigames. I play GTA games to cause chaos and havoc, not rhythm minigame bullshit.

>> No.10716329

>>10716273
The one with Cesar is broken in the PC port, so it was even more annoying because if you didn't know it you failed it every time.

>>10716115
Best mission: the one where you go back to Liberty City. Even if you can't really do anything I think it was really cool to see LC again.
Worst mission: the one where you have to use a fucking Dodo to chase a business jet. Why the fuck can't you just use one of the faster planes in the airport? Frustrating as fuck.

>> No.10716359

>>10716329
Both of them are broken in the PC port on newer computers, since they tied the games to your FPS without tying the visuals. So you can't hit the right buttons since the timing will be completely off. They say SilentPatch fixes it, but it's failed me before.

>> No.10716501

>>10716329
I forget how but I think on all versions you can clip through the interior walls at St. Mark's bistro and actually explore the St Mark's suburb of Liberty City (obviously not all of it and you'll fall through the non-solid environment texture through a lot of it but it's cool how much they actually rendered of Liberty City in snow considering you don't even get to see 95% in the cutscenes).

This. For a silly-ass game with particularly ugly graphics even for its day (I distinctly remember how uglier it looked coming off VC) it sure manages to not only have different atmospheres throughout the game's progression, but each vibe/atmosphere is thick and top notch.

Actually not sure which I would pick. I think I favor San Fierro missions or most anything involving Wu Zi

I hated Catalina missions. The one where you steal a fuel tank and have to escape people in a highly immobile semi with the horrendous San Andreas floating vehicle controls.

So I wasn't imagining that. Cars felt like shit to drive in SA compared to 3 and VC.

If I went over 30 my car would ALWAYS end upside down and cost me the mission. I've barely played 3 or VC so I don't have much to compare to, but I'd hope they feel better.

i stopped playing at the mission where you have to hit the house with molotov cocktails. by that point i had to keep playing the same missions 20 times and just didn’t wanna keep doing that for so many more. i beat 3. but after that i lost my patience with these games. vice ciry has the same terrible shooting as 3. it’s slightly improved with san andreas but i just can’t deal with getting stuck on the same mission forever. i love the games but they annoy me. i will eventually continue with san andreas when i’ve had a good break

I'd accuse your comment of being bait but that's actually a really common opinion both on the internet and people in real life I spoken with. Is it the 80's vibe that win people over on VC or is SA just too convoluted for some?

I think there's a bunch of shit that does that on release versions of San An (patched on later revisions). Also, on most of that gens GTAs (see: Purple Nines Glitch on GTA III).

I think a lot of it was documented by 2000's autists (god bless 'em) on GameFAQs.com glitch guides

To me, the best mission is a tie between Truth's Area 51 raid, Toreno's Hydra taking, and the Caligula Heist.
Moments where CJ was just invincible.

>Worst mission
I know about the train, I know about the RC, but my personal one is the cellphone car robbery.
Zero was proud that he invented a tracker, and I was like "ok, but why do I have to follow blips rather than a RT tracking from a guy making phonecalls? I followed guys that were like far from my map, and I still had their signal. Why do I get checkpoints now?"
The second one goes to the San Fierro convoy where you destroy roadblocks on your own while the van drives straight into enemy fire. I have a RPG! Get out of the way!

>> No.10721435

The one I kept a save file of and went back to a bunch of times was the Toreno mission where you drive the motorbike into the cargo plane. Not only was that part baddass but you also got the highest skydive in the game at the end.

>What was the worst?
"Stowaway" because on PC, when you play with frame limiter off to get smooth gameplay at max fps, plane moves too fast and bike can not reach it on time before it takes off.

Attempted this so many times over and over. I didn't know it has something to do with frame limiter. Reinstalled whole game and didn't change any settings and then was able to finish it.

The mission itself is nice, but the fact physisc for this one are based on machine performance and for faster machines the mission is impossible, make it possibly the worst mission in terms of how it is coded.
