Guy who found it just stumbled on to it at a Goodwill by pure chance

Yeah, but like....how did it get to a Goodwill? Did one of the devs just decide to give a development beta/prototype copy of a videogame to a Goodwill? I'm curious as to how this hand-labeled CD made its way from a game developer to a random Goodwill.

That only known still existing SNES CD was found in the attic of some guy's father, who worked for a company that at one point was connected to Sony.

This could have been a review copy, or a case of "uncle who worked at nintendo"-like situation, where when the attic/closet was being cleaned out and just boxes of stuff either by said uncle or a grandchild/nephew/etc just simply donated the whole thing to Goodwill without even really looking through it, or maybe even looking through it but having no idea what they had.

I am sure a lot of unreleased/beta stuff has been flat out tossed into a landfill that we will never know existed for that same reason, except that in that case they decided to just toss everything instead of donate or sell it.

I just don't get why he doesn't dump the ROM and instead is just making it a couple of parts on his shitty youtube channel. Or just upload all the damn cutscenes on his channel without all necessary filler.

More people are involved into memes than in a fact that a certain good game exists.
If hypothetical prototype of unreleased Sonic game will be released to public, a lot of people will be interested. If someone will publish never-known-before concepts for potentially-good NES game, there will be only few nerds happy.

You are not reading between lines. Those who receive leaked content cannot say “this guy who worked at Nintendo gave it to me”, instead they will cover their tracks by saying it was pure chance. Read about the Dead Sea scrolls discovery.

I loved his Wario, but I always enjoyed middle-aged, blue-collar guy depictions of Mario prior to him taking up the role. I can see the charm in it and I like some of the games where they gave Mario a bit more personality to work with like his dialogue in Mario vs Donkey Kong and the itallian gibberish in the Mario & Luigi series. Ultimately though, I dont think his version ever worked for either the Popeye inspired every-man character inspiration nor Miyamutoid apparently wanting Mario to be see as an older dude that younger guys look up to(in a way, Wario kinda fit that role better). I guess that's just the evolution of the IP that moved away from that depiction of the character as your Brooklyn accented, working-man uncle. In a way, it kinda also takes away from the average-joe thrown into a weird fantasy world appeal of the old Mario media, when he is just as whimsical.

lol hell no, that site's so out of focus and bent on backroom discord tranny politics now that you have an easier time finding out useless shit like timestamps in sports games for the PS2 than games people actually care about, just look at how much of that Mario & Luigi E3 cart is documented on youtube videos compared to the wiki page or how a lot of gigaleak finds either are trapped on a discord server or were years late to being put on their pages
