There's been many collections of varying degrees of quality over the years. What's interesting about the PS2 was that it got plenty of collections from the previous eras, particularly 90s-era SNK & Capcom games. I remember finding this one brand new for like $16 randomly at HMV around the late 2000s. This was back when PS2 kept getting all sorts of compilations & collections later in its lifespan. Of course, nowadays, and as the 2010s came in, you had to pay for each game individually all over again via the PSN & online stores. Anyway, it was dope to play the first several King of Fighters in one disc. I always thought these had huge rosters & were a bit more chaotic than the Street Fighter 2-style games they were ripping off. There's just a sudden rush of pure 90s nostalgia when you play these arcadey SNK fighting games, an era before smartphones or internet in your pocket, reminiscent of colorful cabinets & game rooms packed with nerds trying to pass the time during a field trip or a cruise vacation.
