Is it bad I enjoy some of Lunar's humor? Yes they are pretty bad but I always enjoyed Working Designs humor for some weird reason.

Wasn't Lunar really just a generic RPG? I could be wrong but I heard there really wasn't much in Lunar outside the battle mechanic. But I don't really know much about the Japanese version.

Lunar and Lunar 2 have pretty good stories bro. Its definitely in the list of GOOD rpgs.
And tbh Lunar's battle mechanic is where the game was weak. The battles weren't very good, you ran out of mp way too easily with very little ways to replenish it thus leading to mages in melee combat.
The story was where Lunar was best.

I wouldn't stay the stories are "good", really. Pretty standard affair, to be honest, though the interactions between the characters helps to keep the player engaged throughout. The atmosphere is well set throughout the game, also. It's just a really comfy game to play.

The battle system was great. You have AoE techs/spells, movement range, multiple melee attacks (depending on character and their gear), a noticeable evasion stat, and the ability to set up AI tactics. True, the battles were often too easy, but that's a reflection on poor enemy design rather than the battle system itself (though the system does suffer for it).

Didn't have this problem in either game, personally.
