Since 1987 there have been more than 50+ Mega Man games. Including all sub-series and spinoffs, could you whittle it down to just 5 favourites?

For me, it's:
>Mega Man 2
>Mega Man X
>Mega Man Legends
>Mega Man X4

>> No.10596862

Megaman 1 and 2 only. The rest overcomplicated it and ruined it.

Megaman X2
Megaman Zero 3
Megaman Legends 1

2-5 and X.

>> No.10596965

I have played more than 50 MM games myself. My favourite are

MM4 (NES)
MM9
X3

For listing 2 more I don't know. I enjoyed Legends 2, Battle Network series especially and 5, Battle&Chase, 5 GB, and the arcade power battle games.

Nevertheless, for me, in no particular order:
>Legends 2
>ZX
>X1
>X4
>Zero 3

>>10596829
Zero 2 is underrated, it had fantastic stage designs and an OST that was to die for. Probably why it wasn't able to meet the bare minimum of 8 new robot masters and had to recycle 3 bosses from the previous game.

Anyone european here was big on Mega Man growing up? Cause I didn't even know Mega Man was a thing, which is why it's so bizarre to me seeing it have 50+ games

The only series I got into was the classic series.
My top five would be 2, 3, 9, IV (GB), and V (GB).
I liked the majority of the games I played (essentially all of them except Rockboard, Battle and Chase, and those weird strategy games).
The only ones I didn’t like much were II (GB), Soccer, the Game Gear one, the Mega Man & Bass Wonderswan sequel, and the godawful DOS games.
Most of the games I mentioned above are not the absolute worst games ever despite some major flaws (whether it’s controls, sound, or just being mediocre in general), but the DOS games are just flat out bad.

The Misadventures of Tron Bonne
X4

basically I like X because I have peculiar nostalgia with it, and everything else is a result of me mostly playing these games on PS1 growing up.

Europe wasn't a market, it was many markets each with their own publishing and taste. This is why in some countries MM was popular while in others it wasn't. I had the first GB game as a kid but I never saw any other MM game in my life after that or since so it was limited in my country, but I know someone from another country in which it was so big he imported MM6 from the US when it came out.

While I don't agree with X5 (the game is terribly boring to me and the Addendum patch just showcases how empty stages are without Alia interrupting you) I get people liking X6. Once you learn how to bend over the game and fuck it's ass, it's fun.
