I more or less agree, although I think I like Magical Quest 1 more than Castle of Illusion, even though I have more nostalgia for Castle.

Goofy barely had any standalone video games, so Goof Troop is an easy choice, especially because it's superb. Donald had a few more, but I think most would agree with QuackShot, though I'm sure many are nostalgic for Goin' Quackers and Maui Mallard, also his 8-Bit SEGA titles were quite good. Mickey has Castle of Illusion and Magical Quest, it's between those, though I can see some arguing for Mickey Mania, but both it and Maui Mallard don't really click for me.

Well, personally my choices would be the same as OP, these are all excellent titles.

The problem with the western titles like Mania or Maui is the same as always... They have good presentation but mediocre to bad gameplay and design, can't compete with the japanese games.
And yeah the Game Gear Donald games are really good, but Quackshot has the Adventure element that males it grand. But, for those who like a more straightforward platformer, the GG ones might be better

I think it's because of his size, if you're making a Mickey or Donald title, it's easy to add both, or even Minnie, but Goofy would be a completely different sprite size and the rest of the levels in it would have to adjust, which isn't worth it.

Fair, I prefer the Illusion titles too, especially Castle of Illusion if we're talking more about single-player, though I've had my fun playing Magical Quest too, it's an excellent platform through and through, and I especiallly love it thanks to the suits/powerups, but I get why someone might not dig it as much, and Castle will always be the definitive Mickey for me too.

I just finished Magical Quest for the 1st time, I'm really glad I played it and it was fantastic, but I'm still more of a Castle of Illusion kind of guy... still, it's great that both of the major consoles at that time got great Mickey titles, I'll definitely replay this on Hard at some point, to really complete it.

A grappling hook is always more fun, I agree, but I had fun charging my attacks with the turban or spamming the water as a bomberman, it felt fun.

I mean, to each their own, I personally find it to be worse than Castle of Illusion overall, but still quite a solid platformer for what it was, it's nice.

The Great Circus Mystery starring Mickey & Minnie was what my brother and I played to death. A solid co-op platformer with not a single thing wrong with it.

We also played and loved Goof Troop, but we were too retarded to finish it at the time, and would always get stuck.
