Which Resident Evil game should I play first? RE1, RE2, or RE3?

Only 2 is good. 1 is too raw, goofy and derivative. 3 is just more of the same and janky

1 is not a RE game. it's 2 that's a RE clone

There are 3 RE1 versions:
>Resident Evil
>Resident Evil: Director's Cut
>Resident Evil: Director's Cut: Dual Shock Version

Start with Director's Cut (non-DualShock)

My first re was code Veronica on dc and I regret nothing

RE1 is the classic. 2 is more streamlined and it loses something but it gains a lot too.

Release order.
Starting with classic RE1 (1996), or it's REGULAR, non-Dual Shock "Director's Cut".

Both character campaigns, maybe some extra if you suck and get bad endings.

Continue this until you get to RE4. Then just drop the series.

Based. I watched my cousin play through that and it always froze on the begining of the second disk
