Sega CD and 32x don't have hidden gems. Everyone knows all the games worth playing for each system because there are so few non-FMV, non-Genesis port games for the Sega CD, and so few games in general for the 32x. It's like trying to look for hidden gems on the Lynx.

Here are some ACTUAL off the beaten path and atypical Genesis games:

- Star Control. One on one starship duelling with a simple strategy campaign mode. If you have not played Star Control 2, then you are in luck, because you have one of the greatest games ever made to look forward to, and by playing the original Star Control first, you can massively increase your enjoyment of SC2.

- Starflight. A fucking gigantic space RPG with mining, trading, exploration, dialogue, and a cool SF plot. Mining in this game is incredibly satisfying, the sound FX and spooky music are good tier

-Herzog Zwei. An early genesis title from Wolfteam with an absolutely BANGING progressive synth soundtrack, and way ahead of it's time in that it delivered a 2 player vs. mode RTS years before World of Warcraft, Command & Conquer etc

- Buck Rogers Countdown to Doomsday. Turn based tactical RPG with squad combat using D&D rules and additional ship based space battles. A really solid, satisfying title

Ad-pocalypse killed the whole business. He shut down undertow and spammed the main channel with advertisement for beer mugs and shit. Cgr basically because an eBay store. He actually came back recently and makes a bunch of regular content like the old times for a very small audience.

>Roguelike, simple as fuck but fun and the only roguelike (outside of Toejam and Earl) on the MD

>jap game you can get an English patch for but I figured it out just fine. Strategy/God game where you spawn Dinosaurs and they fight aliens. NEVER seen this mentioned on /vr/. Also has a sequel but I haven't played that yet.
