N64 or DC?

>> No.10517953

N64 only had 10,000 copies.

The one that's better to emulate and also worth having as an emulator in the first place (N64)

Always Chad64

DS

the N64 has more solid gameplay
the DC one looks better but the 'more missiles the more close enemy bullets are to you' mechanic doesn't work that well - the final boss is broken
the DS and Xbox ones feel phoned in, not having any story whatsoever was a mistake

This is the correct answer. Bangai-O Spirits is better than the original.

N64 is the original, so my purist side would advice you to play that first.
DC is mostly the "same" game but has simplified mechanics and is overall easier, so it's better for someone's first time playing this game.
N64 has overall deeper score system, more challenge, and if you're using original hardware, the N64 controller works much better than the DC controller, especially the left-hand controller position (move with d-pad and shoot with 3D stick, which is the recommended control scheme by the game devs).
Here's a good review that goes in-depth about the differences

Are you guys serious? Genuinely asking. I never played the 360 one, but it looks fun (albeit yeah, less soul than the N64/DC).
I only played a few levels of the DS one and it seemed too puzzle-centric, but I'm interested in giving it another chance for the level editor feature.

100% right, the Dreamcast version of Bangai-O is honestly only playable with emulators because you can rebind the d-pad to a second analog stick. The original control scheme on an actual Dreamcast controller simply does not work.

First time player here. How the fuck are you supposed to beat the guy in level 25? It just instantly kills me whenever i do the missile barrage
