The official Ocarina of Time manga shows that Sheik didn't realize he was Zelda for most kf the story, and thought of himself as a man. This suggests that, at least in that canon, Sheik had a dick.

Yeah it's almost sure that's a rule 63 and Zelda is using sheikah magic to transform, but the bandage around the chest confuses me, as it implies she's actually hiding her boobs. Wouldn't need that if she was actually transforming into a male.

It isn't. None of them are, not even the one included with Hyrule Historia. All of them contradict the games in various ways. They're fun reads for a different interpretation of the events of each game, but that's all they are, a different interpretation.

If Sheik was just a male version of Zelda, wouldn't the cloth covering her face be completely unnecessary? If she was a guy she wouldn't need to cover her face, you like just take it at face value that this is a different male character. If she WAS male she would need no further disguise than a fake name

Brawl's Sheik model has way more feminine appearance, everybody's got its own take on the thing. I say OoT Zelda wears leather padding armor beneath her clothes to appear more muscular and complete the deception.

It's not that farfetched to think Impa trained her; in fact, it's what makes the most sense, she rescued her, she was most likely living with her all those years. The eyes have to be magical, and they're necessary to complete the illusion she's a true Sheikah descendant like Impa was.

If we took Smash as a guide (and Sakurai often is pretty autistic about correct depictions of the source material), Zelda transforms into Sheik and viceversa with magic, in an instant. Obviously it makes sense from a gameplay perspective, though if Sakurai wanted a quick transformation change without hinting at magic, he could have done something like gif related

I've always had the take of "Sheik is basically the body of a completely different person who was concealing Zelda's spirit" and I never saw a reason to think otherwise. In this way there are no real plotholes, otherwise there's no explanation of why Zelda acts so helpless in the tower escape sequence and beyond. I never understood people when though Sheik was a surface level change.

Considering that Zelda spent seven years with Impa yet still didn't learn that Bongo Bongo can turn invisible, Zelda probably never became skilled enough to transform. Sheik is unlikely to be a clothing swap with a skin color and eye color change either. As such, Sheik is probably just a mere illusion and voice change, but Melee messed up by making the form real. Melee Sheik is thus a guy, but no other Sheiks are.

Maybe it's a muscular separate astral body type for Zelda.
I think it's natural to think Zelda was remained by Impa, but yeah there's definitely some hidden lore information about Sheik and Zelda being different, like maybe in order for Zelda to not lose her purity and royal essence, Impa had to do some sheikah magic to hypnotize Zelda and turn her into a different person in order to reach the sheikah arts, which probably used dark magic. Kinda like how ninjas were perceived in feudal Japan

I always assumed Zelda was using the Triforce of Wisdom to cast some sort of illusion magic that makes people perceive her as a different person. That's why the triforce glows when she turns it on and off. And why she keeps appearing and disappearing at random (she can also illusion herself invisible).
