I always picks Link, and rarely (if ever) use projectiles. In fact the last time I remember doing so was because the other guy was a little bitch and running away the whole round.

I can also use Link very effectively in Soul Calibur 2 without resorting to his projectiles. I think most my opponents expect to be shot at, so are taken off guard when I go full berserker on them.

Link's downthrust wrecks anything, both in SSB and in SCII. It's the reason he's one of my favorite characters in those games. The only time I will use projectiles is if an opponent expects me to close in.

IMO, any character that shoots projectiles is for plebs and the newcomers. So ,common for people that use them to be total asswipes and stay at one single point os the stage shooting, thinking they're hot shit.

Projectiles are fine in ssb64. Only stage it can possibly be a problem on is Yoshi's Story, but even then it's negligible.

SSBM is another story though, since a lot of stages have closed circles that you can abuse if you're faster than your opponent.

But it doesn't maintain 60fps at all. It slows down to 30 regularly with 3 people playing, and down to 15 or 12 a lot with 4 people. It doesn't frameskip either - just gets slooooowwww, like a lot of N64 games.

The VC version runs fast, though.
