Ok retards, who was/is your main Marvel vs. Capcom 1 team. Let's see if there is a most popular combo among this demographic.

I always go with Wolverine/Spider-Man. Really always wanted to use Venom because he's my favorite but I could never get into his moveset in this game.

Venom & CapCom.
MvC1 is busted to shit but a contender for the most soulful Capcom game, it's absolutely bursting with appreciation for both of the companies involved; for how much Marvel 2 did for the series & genre mechanically it lost a LOT of the aesthetics that made 1 so striking. 2 almost feels like it's not even a crossover with how generic its presentation is and how it tossed in OCs that have more focus in-game than any of the actual Marvel & Capcom characters (not that I don't love Ruby Heart).

It IS the most soulful Capcom game. You can really see the fun Capcom and Marvel had when developing it despite being from two different worlds and mindsets, and the game is a party from start to end. It foregoes stale competitiveness to be just a fun game to play with friends and family. None of the sequels compare.

I'm a Marvel 3 superfan but I still concede 1 has the most SOUL. There's just something to appreciate in every single screen. Ironically, the games on either side (MSHvSF & MvC2) are the entries that have the least going on in that department.

He's also the only character in MvC1 who has a passive skill. When he's the last character standing and on low health he'll become sturdier and shine with power for the remainder of the match.

Gambit and Onslaught make this game have the stamp of the 90s, and thats a good thing. I'm not even a big Gambit guy but I like to see he's popular ITT since these days he's been left in the dust and 90s hating comics fans like to pretend he never had star power, when he was really the second most popular X-Men back then

Strider/CapCom. Didn't even know who they were when I first started playing (well, I think I saw the Captain Commando game in a magazine once), but they were just cool as shit. The former 'cause he's like a cool ninja and shit, and the latter because CAPTAIN FAIA CAPTAIN PILLA CAPTAIN SOOOOOOODO. Simple as.
