what is the purpose of documenting the archive format?
it is literally a per-emulator thing
I bet that there are emulators out there that can read .rar
also what if I am playing on linux and I use .squashfs archives? or .xz .zstd .lz4 whatever? and I just mount the archive on a folder and then load it normally?

you should remove the archive format column, it provides nothing of use, it is just noise. Or just make a new chart with the popular emulators and what kind of archive formats they support, it would make more sense then

you could just add an asterisk* and a footnote with something like
>archival formats are emulator dependent, please consult this other graph, on emulator/archive support, or whatever

People use Retroarch for stuff like PS3 and Switch? That's a bit silly, you want to squeeze everything you can out of those emulators

Just use MAME instead of playing some of those inferior arcade ports. The difference is big enough to make SNES versions completely pointless. We're not in the 90s anymore, arcades games are actually available at home

Before the release of the Metal Gear Solid collection on the Switch, this was my definitive Nintendo Metal Gear time line. At some point, I figured that it would be an amusing idea to take every misfit Nintendo console release of Metal Gear/ Solid and just tie them all together into one timeline. It could still logically work.
