What are everybody’s thoughts on Lost Levels World 2-1 as far as backdrop and overall stage layout go?

>> No.10476320

Lost Levels on the SNES made the difficulty a little easier than the original one on the NES Famicom.

I think it's neat, thanks for asking.

A precisely timed running crouch slide into jump can actually clear it. Barring that, take the hit and i-frame through.

Lost Levels World 2-1 with the night time backdrop, but what about the level layout itself?

Game sucks. Well maybe "sucks" is harsh but if it counts as a mainline Mario game, it's easily the worst one. Note that the NSMB games don't count.

Yoshis island is worse.

This is a 2-1 thread. Were you trying to derail it with criticism of the entire game or were you just being hasty and careless?

I always found that backdrop very soulful. Super Mario All-Stars was the first video game I ever owned, along with FIFA 96

god, I want to go back

You're not. Bowser was pretty efficient.

I really like the combination of the bridge/water visuals with the background. The background in particular has a really nice gradient, I like the blue/purple colors chosen for the hills and how the stars almost look like fireworks. SNES SMB1/Lost Levels are probably my favorite Mario games visually because of this. As for the stage layout, I enjoy it but it's not my favorite level in the game. It does introduce the green springs, which is nice.

It's good, but would you mind posting the famicom version for comparison's sake?

>mfw there are like 500 different renditions of this same joke
I remember having the idea to make a comic based on this same premise ~15 years ago. The fact that so many cartoonists all had this same twisted idea says a lot about the demoralized state of male consciousness these days.

Is this a new auster attempt? the whole "what are your thoughts on the backdrop", etc template.
It seems inoffensive but I can see auster having some kind of "I want to be obnoxious so /vr/ posters will start hating on Mario once and for all!" kind of plan.
