Rastan saga is a good call. I didn't know they made a third entry until just last night, it's one of those Taito games that are SUPER widescreen, it's kinda sick.
Dark Seal on the arcade is another good one, as is Black Tiger.

I just recently played through King Colossus on the Sega Genesis, and while it has level ups from killing shit, I'd really struggle to call it an RPG as it's a pretty linear overhead action game.

Based as fuck game. Golden Axe 1 and 2 were great. Wish 3 was as good but its kind of crap. Never played revenge of death adder which is also good supposedly. Anyways that soundtrack hits hard as fuck. Especially GA2.

A shame that the Genesis, which was a perfect console for these classic arcade titles, only got the 2nd title of the Rastan series ported to it, a port of the 1st one exists for the Master System and it's great, but I really wish we had gotten it on Genesis instead... what a shame, fuck.
