How come the Sonic fandom being as humongous and obsessive as it is hasn't hovered toward and took control of DCT discourse online?
It's one of the biggest pop acts in Asia (and for good reason, they are good musicians, make great songs and their live shows are incredible). Nakmaura-san often references his Sonic works and they even released a Green Hill Zone single a few years ago.
Yet the Sonic fandom is strangely silent about them.

Are you kidding me? DCT keeps releasing new material and doing stadium concerts all the time. As already stated, they also released a GHZ single a few years ago.
Complete silence from the Sonic fandom. And we're talking about a fandom that obsessses about every little single thing related to the story of Sonic.
We live in a time where more Sonic fans know about the 80s hair metal band of the Crush40 single than the J-Pop juggernaut band from the creator of the "Sonic music" sound (every Sonic soundtrack tries to recreate the Nakamura vibe).
I dunno there's a weird disconnection between an obsessive fandom not talking about a hyper popular band from the creator of music like GHZ.

It was very cool to see his name in the credits of the Sonic 1 movie since they use the Green Hill Zone theme a lot in that. What I don't understand is why SEGA hasn't just bought the rights to all of his music, it's weird to see the actual Sonic 1/2 theme return in Generations and then just disappear again. I also wish he was just on better terms with SEGA in general. If Jun can still work on the games there's no reason Nakamura can't. Would be nice to see him return for once like Ohshima did

Also, forget everyone who thinks Naofumi Hataya and Michael Jackson were the best Sonic composers. Nakamura and Jun are where it's at (and Spencer Nelson, of course

You say it like that like it's just 2 minor games. Sonic 1 and 2 contain more inconic music than the entirety of the rest of the series.
Also in the games credits, Dreams Come True appear, not just Masato Nakamura (who is the band leader anyway)

It may not be that good of a series, but they did contribute a song for that mid 90's Swan Princess animated movie. That's the only way I knew of them before I ever found out one of their musicians did the Sonic OSTs. The only problem was it only played during the end credits.
