Recommend me surrealist games or anything like that. Games like Nights Into Dreams, Majora's Mask, Darius Gaiden (I guess that fits), Hylics (?)

Earthbound is probably the biggest surrealist game and has elements of both styles so play that first.

Honestly the Mario series is pretty surreal. We take Mario for granted but just imagine if it was an obscure game and you came across it without prior knowledge of its universe and lore.

But you do just come across it as a kid. Either your family or a friend goes "hey anon wanna play super Mario" and the rest is history. I agree it's got surreal aspects and you're right it's because it's so iconic and we have been exposed to it for so long it's not weird to us. Just like cartoons in general. I was thinking about how fucking weird all the old Looney tunes and stuff were, but since I grew up watching them they don't strike me as strange, unless I actively think about what the fuck is going on.
