there used to be so many of these guys, literally every company was trying to make the next Mario or Sonic. My mom worked at Blockbuster at the time (early 90s) and knowing I loved both characters she would always bring me back games with weird cartoon guys as the protagonists. One particularly memorable one for me is Socket (picrel), I remember him ingame looking nothing like the boxart, and just being a completely obvious Sonic clone, the game was like a dollar store version of Sonic 1-2. Still, I kinda dig his tude and would have liked to see him in other stuff, what mascots do you guys fondly or not so fondly remember that are gone?

Before Sonic, Sega's mascot was Opa Opa. Still prefer this to the blue faggot

There's not a single game mascot I despise more than Skunny.

Played it.
Pretty solid game but does not really make most out of his speed. Even more than with Sonic you charge, dash - and immediately dash into an enemy.
Fantastic music tho, really great tracks, top tier.
Worth a playtrough.
