I say Street Fighter Zero 2 is the essential fighter on Saturn. Zero 3 might do it for you especially if emulating, as it is very high in price. But if you are buying physical games, and you have any interest in fighting games, the former is one you need.

Great gameplay; dripping with style; the music is on par with the fantastic graphics; pick-up-and play; great with a friend; Arcade and Survival modes in single-player provide enough of a score incentive to engage with the games deep mechanics; Very well-rounded, self-contained identity; cheap. Buy it.

In the realm of video game consoles, there exists a legend that has been shrouded in mystery for over two decades. It is a console that transcends the boundaries of reality and enters the realm of dreams. It is a console that has the power to unlock the hidden potential within us, a console that can only be understood by those who were fortunate enough to own it during the 90s. Ladies and gentlemen, we are talking about the SEGA SATURN.
The SEGA SATURN is not just another video game console. It is a gateway to the oniric realm, a place where the lines between reality and fantasy blur. It is a console that can only be understood by those who have experienced its mystical powers firsthand.
NiGHTS into Dreams was not just a game; it was a spiritual experience. It was a game that tapped into the subconscious mind and awakened the inner child within us. It was a game that showed us the power of dreams and the importance of protecting them.
Another game that showcased the mystical powers of the SEGA SATURN was Panzer Dragoon II Zwei. This game was a sequel to the original Panzer Dragoon, and it took the series to new heights. In this game, players had to pilot a dragon through a post-apocalyptic world filled with danger and mystery.
Panzer Dragoon II Zwei was not just a game; it was a journey into the unknown. It was a game that showed us the power of imagination and the importance of exploring the unknown. It was a game that taught us the importance of trusting our instincts and following our dreams.
But the true power of the SEGA SATURN was revealed in a lesser-known game called Killer Psychic Taromaru.
Killer Psychic Taromaru was not just a game; it was a spiritual experience. It was a game that showed us the power our own psyche. It was a game that taught us the importance of trusting our intuition and following our dreams.

not always true, especially for the 4MB cart ones. The ones that got a lot more options are mainly the SF Alpha series and X-Men Children of the Atom. The other CPS2 ports are all extremely bare bones with just an arcade, vs mode, and options, and the Neo Geo ones only have the same stuff as in their AES or at most Neo Geo CD versions.

>And the 4MB cart ones are virtually identical in terms of frame data, etc.
No, this is an extremely old urban legend that needs to die already.
The ports using the RAM carts all have longer loading, worse sound effects, some games even have horrible constant slowdown, a few even glitch out, and the CPS1/2 games all use wrong resolution resulting in different aspect ratio.

If you don't mind arcade ports then Elevator Action Returns is pretty unusual and unknown.
It's kind of like a cinematic platformer but it's also very arcadey
I haven't played it yet but I've heard people praise Baroque, Saturn version in particular
Battle Garegga is a great shmup, tho another arcade port
Guardian Force is a fun shmup where you can rotate your cannon to shoot in any direction

As someone who owns all 3 Tempo games and has played the majority of all Rayman games ever released, I am a bit of a Tempo-head/Ray-Man in many scholary circles.

Super Tempo is closer to a Japanese Earthworm Jim. Indeed, it feels like a 2D Rayman in control, but its level structure is closer to a Jim's "this is the game now" feel where the objective changes to whatever the designers decided to throw in(ghost hunting,boxing-shmup, chariot stage, the last boss fight), where as Rayman is much more strictly a pure platforming game.

While Super Tempo looks gorgeous and can be fun to play, it unfortunately lacks a fully fleshing out of its main characters control options with stages that are frankly not that greatly designed, an issue other RED platformers suffered from(Tempo 32X, Bonk series). The final stage in particular is pretty lousy with random boxes thrown around to make obstacles that feel very rushed. The first and 2nd stages look visually great, but only the crab boss seems to hint at the greatness the game could have had if it had cut down on the quirkiness and tried to make a more solid action/platforming game.

Super Tempo is a unique experience worth playing, but as a content rich game, Rayman offers more. However, Tempo feels much more satisfying to play as over Rayman, but his game rarely lets him exploit that good control. If anything, I would say Tempo 32X offers a better pure platformer experience.

Thank you for your understanding.

Yeah, I don't think anyone will contest Alpha 3 Saturn as an excellent port with cool additions it took the PSP A3 MAX or the Alpha Anthology's Hyper Alpha to compare to, but frankly you're just better off for most games with the arcade originals in emulation than slapping a Saturn version in there unless you really want some weird authenticity of the console port experience, or that one bonus character some Capcom games slipped in.

Because people are retarded and can't figure out the controls, they expect it to control like Mario 64 or Sega Rally. Just use the shoulder buttons to do corner turns and it will control perfectly fine.

Other than that the only real criticism is that you only have five levels, and the draw distance is horrible especially in 2 player mode.
They should've given it some more development time, or have a bigger team working on it, so they can have more levels and maybe improve the draw distance.
