It is pointless, and the experience is ruined because of the internet. The best way to play the game is to have as little background knowledge of its contents as possible, and it can genuinely shock and surprise you. In the age of YouTube, this is completely destroyed, and there are a million websites which have deconstructed everything contained on the disc to exhaustion.

I first played it around 2010, having never heard of it before. I didn’t look it up beyond being recommended it and it’s sincerely spooky and interesting when suddenly all the textures turn to close ups of a woman’s eye and things start turning rainbow.
