I remember playing the two shitty WWF games on the N64 solely because they had a Create-a-Wrestler mode.

>pausing every fucking three seconds to look at the movelist
>the commands are all arbitrary and the commands for similar moves have no relation to one another

I would pay $100 USD for a new HD Extreme G game. Who's sitting on these rights?

This is the perfect time for this thread to appear as I recently acquired 2 of pic related, one has the artwork in good condition, and the other has poor artwork but intact internals so tomorrow I will be putting the internals from machine 1 into machine 2, I am just completely new and have little idea how to go about this, is they any sort of guide that will aid me. Also, how much should I sell the finished one for?

This game was a pretty nice 3D platformer adventure/Metroidvania. If you ever do consider playing this, you will have to explore and backtrack a good amount.

To be honest I wasn't really sure about its spelling until right now.

The electronics should just be on a few giant edge connectors / ribbon-cables.

Standard games have a single JAMMA connector (bigass 56-pin edge connector) which connects the power supply, monitor, speakers, controls, and coin mechs to the game's circuit board.

Did anybody like Aerosmith THAT much?

I would see this game at the arcade, but never had the need to try it. And apparently neither did anyone else, it was always such a desolate machine.

There was a time they were considered the worst videogame publisher ever. They were flooding the market with shitty games, I believe that was around 1996 - 1997. I used to buy this really fun vidya magazine who used to piss on Acclaim every single issue, openly using dirty words for that as well. "Those bastards get a bunch of shitheads that will program a game for a plate of soup, then they make a giant turd and put it on the shelves to sell to unsuspected consumers" basically shovelware.

they used to pull retarded publicity stunts too. offering money if you put an ad for Shadowman on your tombstone, or if you named your kid Turok (long before Bethesda did the same thing !)

ACCLAIM
Masters Of The Game

Actually Revolution X was Midway's game. Acclaim just took care of the console ports, just like they did with other Midway games (NBA Jam, Mortal Kombat) and arcade games from other companies (Puzzle Bobble).

It takes lots of talent to make such a crappy port for a digitalized graphics game at 32-bit machines: the graphics were already average but with the console ports they downgraded them more and there was no support for light gun accessories.

For many years I thought that this piece of crap was made by Acclaim. Little did I know that Capcom actually developed that game and Acclaim just ported it to the consoles outside Japan.

I don't know if the Turok games for N64 aged well but back then they looked so impressive. It was one of the first games which took place in open wide placed instead of closed labyrinths, you had dinosaurs for enemies instead of aliens and nazis, the enemies didn't pixelated when they were close to you, the graphics were awesome...It's hard to imagine that such a famous N64 exclusive was based on a really old comic.

Yes. Chef's Luv Shack was something else. You get the gist of the game through just one play through with a few friends, but you can't deny its fun factor.

But, what the hell do I know? I thought South Park 64 was okay.

>> No.1053232

It's really not as wide open as you remember it. I tried it again recently and realized that the game world was basically at the bottom of an infinitely deep canyon with the occasional tiny plaza.

Those were great.

What were they thinking when making this one?
Why even call it Turok 3 if Turok dies before you can control the game?
How bad was it?

>> No.1053257

>>1053232

Not him but I'd still argue the worlds could be pretty spacious. The early level(s) in the jungle were quite linear but later on there was definitely room and cause to explore. I was most taken aback by the fog.

Still had a great time playing it start to finish. Protip: The game has a "late jump" mechanic. Press jump the split second you are actually falling from a ledge and you'll get some extra horizontal distance on your jump.

Turok is a title, once the old one dies or "retires", the eldest male of the Fireseed family takes the mantle.

PS: T3 is good, and this is coming from the guy that loves the fuck out of 2 and dinosaur hunter and to a lesser extent, Evolution.
