Why will no one confront him for blatantly lying about Zelda
>Uhh I got the idea from walking around a cave ror

>> No.10398804

>>10398794
It's a mistranslation.
What he really meant to say was he found the game in a cave.

Probably the same time someone confronts him about never actually doing anything but having an idea for a game, drawing pictures of it, and then screaming at salarymen while chain-smoking, but then taking all credit for it

The overlap of anons seething uncontrollably about his success and NEETs who couldn't afford a trip to Japan to shoot him in the face may be closer than we suspect.

Developers will never admit to have taken inspiration from other games unless said games was made by the same company. Because for one thing, it will make them look bad, and secondly they could get sued.

Exception for modern indie devs who have no shame in saying "my game is a mix between old game 1 and old game 2!" but those people are stupid

Jokes aside, didn't Miyamoto actually mention Ultima or some other PC game as part of influencing Zelda, or I'm misremembering?
You still never know though because at this point most Miyamoto interviews we know might be fake or mistranslated.
He could be both influenced by exploring the woods as a kid and Ultima, you know.

>> No.10398840

>>10398834
Ultima influenced every single japanese game with a fantasy setting.

Yeah maybe I dunno but I mean, I think Miyamoto actually mentioned it in some interview. Again, take all the shiggy interviews not from japanese sources with a grain of salt.

>> No.10398845

>>10398834
he has mentioned like 3 games iirc. space invaders, ultima and pac land. not strictly for zelda. the ultima one is on some old video and not mistranslated nonsense. the pac land is unusual for him because it was a contemporary game. ultima any jp dev could get away with cause its foreign and legendary.

Most developers are dishonest and like to boast about their achievements and although he is a godlike game designer he didn't code any of the games

Their games are shit as well. I will never understand how modern day indie developers get everything wrong. Even Sonicmania feels slightly off compared to mega drive Sonics.

A 1986 miyamoto interview resurfaced earlier this year where he says he loved Xevious and Tower of Druaga, but doesn't admit that they directly influenced him. The interview was published the same month the original Zelda came out.

Smart people take credit for other people's work. Why? Because if the project flops, you're definitely going to get blamed. Possibly fired. When you think of Wii Music, your first thought is most likely: Shiggy has lost his touch. No one blames the hundred plus man dev team that could have stopped that slop. If you're going to get blamed for failures, you best damn well take credit for all the good.

>>10398852

All three games (including Zelda) is just a game of Dungeons & Dragons without the dice.

I never actually played it, but I remembered reading everyone on the internet saying he's losing it as a game designer at that point. Before that it was how he came up with Pikmin when gardening. With one game the narrative changed. But yeah, Wii games were rather unremarkable in general. Not much experimentation.

Are you really this ignorant?. He has working the frontlines at Nintendo for years, until he has promoted to a more executive position after Ocarina of Time. Up until that point he was directing and contributing to game design himself. I believe it was he and one other person, Gunpei Yokoi, who worked together to create Donkey Kong. Can't really do that above some ivory tower, can you.

>> No.10398954

Yokoi did all the work then Miyamoto had him die in an "accident" after he left Nintendo. Can’t have another company suddenly making successful products when Yokoi joins

did you know Hiroshi Yamauchi wasn't actually a human being? He was a vessel that enclosed 7 yakuza oni spirits from 7 different regions in Japan. These oni monopolized the gambling in Japan with the hanafuda Nintendo cards and put a spell so that no other company could produce cards, truly evil.

Yamauchi, often referred to as "大魔王 ティラノ天堂" (Great Evil King Tyranotendo), tyranized the video games market with his monopolic practises, it is said that the Master System or the PC Engine didn't actually ever exist, and that they were invented time after so hide the fact that the Famicom was actually the one and only console existing in Japan.

Baseless speculation. Although it is known that the big Japanese companies are run by the Yakuza, including Nintendo no doubt, it doesn't mean that Miyamoto is talentless and contributed nothing. You can say that about anyone, really.
