No One Can Stop Mr Domino - batshit crazy
Fighting Force - 3D Streets of Rage
Omega Boost - stunning mech game, but short
Syphon Filter 2 - some really cool levels in this
Casper: A Haunting 3D Adventure - surprisingly good puzzle game finding hidden keys around the manor to progress, making use of abilities that turn you into smoke to go through air vents etc

Carnage Heart. You like strategy? This is fucking strategy. Your troops are robots called "OverKill Engines". You have to design them a la Armored Core. You have to program their AI behavior by putting action chips on their CPU like a flowchart. And then you take this template design and have your factories start turning out finished OKEs. Meanwhile, you're negotiating with people for blueprints to new parts and weapons.

It's an srpg where you use and equip cards to perform magic and summons and stuff. Don't really remember the story, but I remember thinking the story was cool when I was 14. I'm pretty sure there are two main characters, each with their own game so you have to play through both to get the full story.

a western developer's attempt to cash in on the RPG craze then. Ted Woosley & Paul Reed (Secret of Evermore, Metroid Prime) wrote the plot, with Woosley being the executive producer as well.

nothing original gameplay-wise, and it's not exactly the prettiest. personally, being mainly a console only gamer then, with no prior experience of 3D games for the PC, which in retrospect, can be pretty surreal, there's a sense of surrealism that came with the bad graphics, which i really liked. beyond that, i don't know what it was about the game that made me stick to it till the end.

i've seen a small handful of /vr/os here mentioning it, so you either like it or hate it.

It's so cool to be in a place where people actually know what Jumping Flash is. Hands-down my favorite PS1 game as a kid

That said, I recommend it as well OP. It's pretty cheap if you plan on buying it, too. Don't know about emulation. It's a little different, so watch some vids of it before deciding anything

People consistently seem to forget about Rock 'n' Roll Racing 2 which had incredible music for the time; RayStorm a pretty decent shmup; and Blazing Dragons a Cheech Marin p&c adventure.
Also G-Darius, Clocktower, D, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Hercules (it's really fun I swear), Nightmare Creatures, Persona games, SCARS, Rollcage, Thrill Kill, Wipeout, Ace Combat games.

I think Breath of Fire 3 was the most underrated RPG of all-time. The gameplay was super tight, the level-up system was deep, the world was massive, the music was brilliant, the characters were charming, and overall the game was just a lot of fun to play. If you love RPGs, this is a must-play.

I played that fucker last month. One of the most tedious, dull, mind-numbing disasters I've ever laid hands on.

When I was a kid I creamed my green then pink then red then silver pants playing as the pink haired feral dude that has a flail and jumps on pigs. I loved that game to tears.

And on a whim, I started playing it last month...oh the horror. Completing it near 100% was a snore fest and I hated doing every single one of the quests. It's dull, repetitive and treacherous.

It's not even hard, it's just bad. God, there are certain games you should not experience after 15 years pass.

Trust me, it sucked back then too. Luckily, it's better than the sum of it's parts, so it's still enjoyable to play, bad as it is.

Best PS1 games (excluding the standard FFs and REs and such):

>Star Ocean 2 - a fucking great JRPG with 2 playable characters
>Megaman Legends 1 and 2 - Megaman adventure games
>Misadventures of Tronn Bonne - 4 types of gameplay: action, adventure, puzzle and something else I can't recall (lol). amazingly fun (but expensive) game.
>Tail Concerto - cute as fuck little adventure/platformer where you play as a dog police officer in a mech who captures outlaw kittens with a bubble gun. Not even kidding (it's more fun than it sounds)
>Castlevania: Symphony of the night - Super Metroid clone with RPG elements. Better than Super Metroid in my opinion.
>Blood Omen - hard as fuck, vampire themed Zelda clone. You get to play around with vampiric powers, dark magick and weapons that literally cause enemies to explode into a bloody buddle.
>Soul Reaver - a rather Super Metroid-like action adventure game where you explore a dying world, kill your "brothers" to gain their powers and ultimately face your creator to avenge your own death. The sequel to Blood Omen.
>Dino Crisis 2 - everything Resident Evil 4 wishes it was. You run from area to area killing enemies and racking up points to buy new weapons and upgrade old ones. Only unlike RE4, you can fucking run and shoot at the same time. And DC2 STILL manages to feel more like classic RE than RE4 did...
>Soul of the samurai - rather Onimusha-like action/horror game with 2 playable characters. It's a lot slower paced than Onimusha though.
>Metal Gear Solid Vr Missions - 500 different 30 second long (more or less) VR missions. Very arcadey, addicting and fun once you get into it.
>Jearsey Devil - a fairly "Halloween-ey" 3D platformer.
