There's an option for instrumental tracks in the game. I think the compositions are all good, but the lyrics were a bit much. It's some classic late 90's Richard Jacques stuff. Richard Jacques is still making game soundtracks, and he really got his start on the Saturn, with the Shinobi Legions NA soundtrack, Daytona USA CCE, Sonic 3D Blast and Sonic R.

Oh right, I forgot the name was called Shinobi X in PAL regions, Only played the PAL version briefly via emulation. I don't imagine it would be hard to replace the US soundtrack with the UK one, if it's all just redbook.

The lyrics are pretty silly, so I prefer using the instrumental versions for gameplay (the replays are the opposite). Despite finding the lyrics kind of cringe in its day, the songs did grow on me. They give the game the extra charm that makes me love the game more.

>>10388142
Unlike PGR which had Microsoft budget, Sega couldn't afford much for songs, so it is still impressive they got some decent licensed songs for their games.

Sonic was the beginning of the casual niggerfication of pop culture. They found the blackest white woman possible to do the soundtrack. And all the other soundtracks are all Michael Jackson sounding crap. The nigger even wrote a song or two for them.

I actually loved the soundtrack and always thought the singer on it was black, really surprised to find out it was a white bird after all, that girl got some proper pipes.

Game was fun for a few hours and then it became boring. Only had one friend who'd ever want to play multi (dude was proper into anything Sonic related) too, the rest of my mates would much rather play better racing games instead.

So I ended up listening to the game music more often than I played it.

Thankfully I had a pirate PC copy, if I'd buy it full price I'm sure I'd regret it.

After moving I never got around to setting up my speakers again. Must have been around 2015. Also, the walls are kind of thin, so I am not sure if I could even can play music anyway.

I do miss playing music. I had a pretty unique setup. My amp was an old car stereo, and the speakers were big 1970s 3 way speakers with 10 inch bass drivers. I used to always set the bass to max, which on the car stereo was one of those primitive 1khz center tone controls. Unlike hifi-amps, where the bass control only lifted the actual bass, resulting in a boomy sound. The cars stereos soggy bass control resulted in a rich and warm sound that was not boomy. There was nothing like it, expensive hifi equipment sounded like garbage in comparison to my setup.

I played the PC version of this game for years until the Sonic Gems collection came out. My game never had the background music, only sound effects, so I played it listening to Limp Bizkit and DDR rips. What was up with that?

They only ban mods that upset leftoids. That one is still up, along with a mod for a Fire Emblem game that brownwashes characters, but if you made a mod that made characters White it would get quickly pulled and you'd be banned.

There were later copies that were burned onto disc formats that didn't support redbook audio after that format fell out of favor. They simply did not include the music tracks and couldn't play them even if they did. Nowadays you'd be able to restore the music.

part of the melody is in the vocals, we would need a sound engineer to either keep the singing but make it unintelligible or add an instrument that replaces the voiced parts
