>> No.10410103

Feels like the latter. It's basically just RCT2 with a load of quality-of-life stuff. All of the "official" new rides fit the original art style and sprite work so well, you wouldn't be able to tell that they weren't a part of the base game. You can also import RCT1 assets to the game, so it's essentially the best way to play retro RCT these days, though I will admit that RCT1 still has charm on its own.

>Does OpenRCT2 use all the original assets like sprites, sounds, graphics, etc?
There are some "official" custom rides added, but you still need the base RCT2 to load in assets. RCT1 is only needed if you want to import scenarios

It feels like RCT2 but with more QoL features. It still has the same menu system, ride building and scenery placement.

Yeah, pretty much all the flat ride reskins - or at least the decent ones - are really old. I don't know of any new custom flat that has been made in the last 10 years.

I think part of the reason is that in vanilla RCT2, flat rides were limited to 4x4 at most, which is really small and just doesn't look good for most flat rides. You were also limited to reskinning an existing ride - your ride had to animate the same as something that already existed. So custom flat rides just weren't that appealing. Shoestring rides don't look great but they can at least be a reasonable size.

With the new save format in OpenRCT2, it's now possible to work around these limitations but there just aren't many people working on custom rides. All the new coaster types added to OpenRCT2 so far were made by the same person.

However, there has been some work done on it. One person has made significant progress on a custom Huss Condor ride so perhaps that will eventually make its way into the game.

on the contrary, what a game of RCT Multiplayer without some weird path issue to solve? It's like a puzzle, treat it as such

these bad boys

>> No.10427819

That's a pretty common unrealistic design that people ten toward. In particular I think of the guy developing tech for that ludicrous ride-ticket-earning scenario that showed how OP splash boats are.

>> No.10427859

well i still think they are still cool they are like the heartline twister except not shitty

>> No.10427890

It's the inclined booster, a cheesy track piece to begin with, and the massive drop back into the station. Heartline twister just needs the actual vertical lift hill (including transfer instead of the retarded upper-lower that we got) and maybe the dive loop, on top of having its stats made not-shit for no reason.

>> No.10428160

oh yeah I remember those, no clue who made them but they're fun to watch

>> No.10428232

is there a functional difference between an in-line twist and a barrel roll?

>> No.10428301

In-line twist generates more negative G.

>> No.10428302

>> No.10428416

inline twist also ends one height unit higher
so you can combine a barrel roll and inline twist to go one unit up or down, or combine an inline with any other inversion to just end it a tiny bit higher up

>> No.10428460

thank you

I cut it down to a 4 minute ride since it was murdering the rating. We have the difficulty turned up on this map, so little stupid shit will plummet the rating and exodus 1,000 guests at a time.

>> No.10430271

Also the rating in that pic is after I closed the ride down. 1,100 guest per hour on that ride and they were at furious after getting off. They were vandalizing everything and wanted to go home.

How do I stop my existing queue lines getting wrecked when I hover a ride design with an inbuilt queue over the top of it? Surely I'm not the only one who has encountered this.
OpenRCT2 only.

>> No.10431846

Sounds like a very annoying bug. I don't know how to fix it other than to not hover designs over it. You should put in a bug report, though. That's definitely not intended game design.

Yeah that was me. Like other anon said I made it for getting ludicrous amounts of money super quick.
I made a few different designs but they all shared the common theme of being built over a path like pic related to maximize the real estate available.

The ride names did the atmosphere for me; it was like a psychedelic nightmare of a pharmaceutical factory.

The part that grabbed me were the flashing tiles when guests walked over them and activated a clipping effect - usually that would be undesirable, but unintentional or not, added a really eerie effect to the area.

Went back and took some photos for posterity. Not sure if we want to continue it again next week but certainly a good candidate for clipping an intro from. I might try to finally learn that.
