Slept on this. Would probably put it in my top-5 Goemon games and definitely one of the best GBC games

Any Game Boy hidden gems or must-plays you stumbled into?

I only played the first GB game, which I enjoyed a lot, very reminiscent of the first 2 on Famicom which are my favourite. I'll have to check this one out as well

Well, OP one is the sidescroller type. Couldn't really get into the top-down ones yet

I like Cave Noire.

I absolutely love Mr. Driller A. I bought the game about 5 months ago and it’s the only GBA game I’ve been really playing in that timeframe (I got Mr. Driller 2 (GBA) a month and a half ago, but it’s not as good as A, still fun though). I just find it super addictive and love trying out all the characters (Taizo is my most used character), and all the different modes. Worth it if you could find a copy, or emulate it if you can’t find a copy.
I also have a few other GBA imports (the Densetsu no Stafy trilogy, Bomberman Jetters: Densetsu no Bomberman, and Bomberman Jetters Game Collection). I would say Stafy 3 and Driller A are in my top 5 favorite GBA games.
I would say it’s my second favorite Mr. Driller game besides DrillLand.

Is the Flash game the only other game that has speed up and slowmo mechanics like Viewtiful Joe?

Samurai Kid, a really clever puzzle-platformer. It's amazing to go back to a game like Samurai Kid that teaches the player the mechanics of puzzle-solving through contextual clues and gameplay situations, then contrast it with modern games with their dumb-shit tutorials that slow the game down to a crawl.

This looks and feels great but also a bit weird and clunky. Should have gotten a sequel

It probably would have if it hadn't ended up a Japanese exclusive, would've been cool to get a GBA sequel.

GB, GBC and GBA were the home of Yu-Gi-Oh! for me, love them all, grindy and brain dead most of the time... but fun and nostalgic for me. I love it.

Max payn on the GBA had bullet time mechanics but other than that I’m can’t think of anymore.

They did this character design on purpose so people stop complaining about Toriyama, right?
