For me it's Gentle Glen

To answer the anon's question from last thread, the only way to stop the flowers from changing color would be to use the "disable plants withering" cheat.

>>10345554I feel like we need an even bigger map next week; compact parks are good but everyone having space to implement their designs feels necessary. Maybe RMC Falls again? Also thank for using my car ride screenshot for the OP; almost wish I'd taken a better picture of it. Wanted to make a more compact one but apparently like with coasters, I just love large turns.
>>10343338I mean, those aren't even necessarily bad stats.
>>10345554Now that's what I call a tophat.
>>10345659i agree with the bigger map, something like enlightenment or woodstock again
>>10347316Is that Doug Dimmadome? Owner of the Dimmsdale Dimmadome?
>>10345659yeah a bigger map is in order. I did really enjoy building compact coasters this time, though.
>>10346915wtf am I watching
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUkp2LiN6JUreal thread theme
what is your LEAST favourite rollercoaster type?hardmode: no heartline
>>10350709Heartline is far from my least favorite, even if it has shit stats and is missing a few elements it should have.Inverted hairpin, on the other hand, is something I don't think I've ever built more than two custom layouts for in 21 years of owning RCT2.
>>10350709i can't wrap my head around making a good water coaster
>>10350709Vertical Drop, I can’t make one without my brain wanting to make a modern dive coaster and realizing it’s borderline impossible without custom elements.
>>10350709Spinning wild mouse.
>>10350709Air powered vertical coasterThe track pieces are limited which makes it one of the dullest coasters to build
>>10351942I hope the openrct2 folks eventually add wider turns to it. Anything to give us options.
>>10350709Suspended Swinging Coaster. The big bulky blocks for cars look awful and more like a transport ride, the stats aren't great and it has a ton of those ugly rct2 expansion pack retextures.
>>10350709This >>10351195Wild Mouse does not need help being more nauseating
>>10352239It will still be extremely dull to build
>>10350709The Mini Coaster is probably the single most unremarkable coaster type to me. Within its niche of being small and cheap, nearly everything ends up outclassing it, and the steeplechase/mini suspended coasters are at least unique.
>>10353009For me it's the way that the Junior absolutely slaughters it in the same niche
>>10353009shit i completely forgot about the mini coaster because it's so boring
>>10350709Mini Suspended and it isn't close.>>10353009I get what you're saying with the Mini Suspended being unique but at least the Mini Roller retains a small degree of momentum. Plus the Automobile cars are cute.
>>10353009At least it has a wide variety of cars
>>10350709it's less of a type and more of an entire section of the menu.>mine train coaster>looping coaster (steel coaster)>stand-up coaster>corkscrew>hypercoasterThey're literally the best looking coasters in the game, but completely dogshit when it comes to available pieces and animations compared to everything else. Almost all of them don't even have curved inclines. The Mine train coaster doesn't even have a fucking camera. they were also all my favorite coasters from rct1 .
>>10351195>>10352384I like it because watching everyone leave the ride green in the face and projectile vomiting in tandem is funny
>>10353904Am I mistaken or were curved inclines not introduced until RCT2?
>>10356309that's just banked curved inclines.
Water tricycles should be able to crash. See Exhibit A:
>>10356706>Mfw it crashes every time it hits land(every 3 seconds)
>>10356681What do you mean curved inclines? Like with chain lift?
Rotting Heights is a comfy scenario.
What are we playing this weekend?
>>10357893Haunted Harbor because it's spooky
>>10358072Unless you're trolling, the map is obviously too small for the weekend
>>10358090I'm kidding, I just wanted to joke about the name because it's almost Halloween.
>>10358094I'd like a large map with a relatively valley-ish terrainI want to be able to go full baroque with the paths
>>10358136I've got you covered. 22.214.171.124:11753
>>10358225hehe ty men
this is a good park
I feel like I work best in tight, compact spaces. When I'm given a large area to work with, I often feel overwhelmed with options to the point where I have no idea what to do. Normally I don't make rides this large.
>>10358635i like that rollercoaster bro good job
>>10358387thanks, i made it myself
https://desuarchive.org/co/thread/139857975/#139858516Is the download link in that thread for Mr. Bones Wild ride legit?
Going all-in on the earth tones this week
>>10359140that is superb colour selection
Guests are getting stuck somewhere
>>10359217located the problem lol
In other news, pretty happy with Verdant Circuit: The Sequel.
>>10359130Do you mind sharing the Rampaging River scenario? It's really well made.
The footpaths of this weekend map
>>10359636It's in the vpack in the op. It's with the vrct parks. The pack is now like 2gb for some reason, so it might take awhile
>>10360897the new .park file allows us to bloat up the scenario filesizes like never before
>>10360907it's because you can add a fuckton of scenery objects and the save file transfers them with it, so each scenario and save carries the custom scenery files with it
shit we should have left room for monorail stations
>>10361128literally just build it. i'm probably going to put a train station around the quad coaster tomorrow and just see where i can go with it.>>10359130it's a good park! only complaint is the squares mess with the guests' pathing a bit, but that's pretty much been resolved with all the bridges and connecting paths.
>>10361171to be fair the squares were added over the weekend, making it our fault
>>10361171>>10361128>hard mode>don't let the transport ride drop to 2mph
>>10361257how could we let this happen...
>>10361262does a train put on a giga with chains everywhere count cuz that's what i'm doing
>>10361327as long as it has covered cars and doesn't kill people, then I consider it worth trying.
Quick little area.
>>10356706I'm disappointed it didn't explode.
>>10359247That's really cute. It's a shame the inherent limitations of the ride makes everything so angular.
train added, feel free to edit/add scenery around it if you want. it's a giga with chains going 8mph, we'll see how the stats look once we get test run lol.
your ride is too long
>>10363067Wouldn't it be nice if splash boats could have their lift speed hacked?
>>10363128>wouldn't it be nice if the most OP ride in the game was betterThey should add boosters as well.
splash boat inversions when
>>10363134Yes, it's OP when used to be OP, with the same mindset as a scam coaster. But it somewhat uniquely has a layout restricted due to running into the 4 min happiness cliff so easily - which is exactly what I replied to.
>>10361257>>10361291STOP THE SQUARESDO NOT THROW SQUARES INTO THE PARK
>>10363067I like 'em long
>>10363176Maybe i should have added some toilet at the ending, idk
It just seems lame that you get so much less drop (in height and quantity) out of splash boats than you do a log flume in the same ride time. From a creativity perspective. The difference in raw income only really matters for bullshit difficulty scenarios.
>>10363128honestly 5mph is perfectly fine with me
This area rules. The whole park is fantastic, but this area is very seasonal and spooky.
>danny damberson is now above 6 excitement ratingthank you
>>10364186Thanks my dude! I kind of haphazardly started putting things down but I'm content with how it turned out.I'm also glad I put down the quad down when I did, we were almost out of money and it helped knock that loan down a bit.>+$100k loan with +$1,000 monthly interest paymentsthat hurt...

>>10364280If the anon who made the title sequences of past weekend parks is still around, I hope they make one for this map. It's good enough for a sequence too
Well, looks like we have the blueprints down for Fort Sawyer, what should I expect when /vr/ct decides to do this IRL?
>>10364353I regret that I only realised I should have added fireworks after the server was done.Pretty happy otherwise, meant to be more of a training ground/CQB killhouse setup than an actual fort though.
>>10364369Looks good, I was thinking about adding explosives myself, but I didn't want to walk all over someone's stuff. Especially how it's nearly impossible to delete.
>>10364280Good work guys
>>10364282I'm still here unfortunately. I'll see if I can make anything good out of it.
>>10366459>completely empty trainsymbolic
>>10366648>I want to go on something more thrilling than Page 10!

>>10368572where is your patreon
>>10361827Car rides would be so much better if they got a bigger scenery bonus, not to mention were faster than walking speed.
>>10369269>faster than walking speedWalking speed is pretty damn fast in the RCT worldhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wO7RXxpGyxE
>>10369295can you post how fast they walk so I don't have to watch a video?
>>10368572>ask for one>makes twoanonymous delivers.
>>10369665From 1MPH to 9MPH, depending on energy and nausea.
I decided to toy with the idea of a "park" that is actually a mall, where rides are very limited (think maze and golf course) and you need to make all money from stores. That is to say, this was a fucking stupid idea and it'll never work, but it is an interesting novelty.
>>10369741put a cinema in
>>10369741You could make an inside level, use the height restriction and very limited space, then just decorate the outside to look like a building. There's a map in the vpack called something cavern like that
>>10369768The list of rides was maze, slide, 3D cinema, minigolf, boat hire, observation tower, and train.>>10369772Really only made that map as a proof of concept. It immediately gets cheesed by selling umbrellas or it relies too heavily on guest micromanagement if you banish the rain.
jfc I'm trying to do the Asteroid Adventures level but underground building in this game is still a goddamn horrorshow. The map's difficulty is entirely in how hard that is.
>>10369741I had a thought to do this as a creative endeavor, for which actually designing the building got in the way. Even building with mostly glass, it's hard to see/work on the internals. As a challenge scenario, a boardwalk works better - slightly better ride selection and height to make a coaster but still a minipark - and I mean to get around to making that at some point. If I try the mall thing again, I think the way to go is to build the main part of the park as an upper floor with a designed building below it (and some park crammed in the underbelly) rather than around it, even if it's only two floors like many malls are. Also have shorter completed buildings adjacent that support rooftop rides.
>>10369741You could put a rollercoaster or two in, the West Edmonton Mall had one in it until some people died on it
Any repositories of files for scenery manager?
>>10370454On this subject I remember seeing a pic like this (granted much nicer), anyone got it?
>>10370407There was also one at Metroland in the UK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUN9AtfnmIs
>>10370454pawn to e4
>>10371194the handy house
>>10371486boat hire bros...
>>10371194That's the one.
>>10370407they kept that thing running long after the people died
>>10370407>>10372564>"Something's fucky">"I don't see anything wrong at a glance">"Well, I guess go ahead and dispatch again">wheel assembly falls off
>>10368572Both are really great, thanks for the inclusion. Rampaging River gonna be my new default sequence.
What's the best method to apply a scenery selection to any scenario/save? I can't find any function or plugin to copy the list, tediously selecting everything one-by-one (assuming you can even find what you're looking for) is a no go. Past that, I see two options. One is to take a scenario/save and nuke it into a flat workbench. The other is to use a plugin to copy a landscape (and only the landscape) and paste it into a scenario/save.I'd settle for a workbench of the /vr/ct server object selection if something close exists. Maybe one of the modified scenarios got uploaded and I can just flatten it?
>>10372807>The other is to use a plugin to copy a landscapeI wish something like that exists. I could fix up some of my maps with that
what are we playing this weekend bros
>>10374712Fjords of Norway
>>10374721I was just making a suggestion.
>>10374881i will never forgive you for getting my hopes up
>>10374891I'll second it just for you, anon.
I don't want the Fjords
Could it be you're... pining for the fjords?
I like Fjords
>>10374925what about Big Ass Rock from the /vr/ct pack?
>>10374925then what do you want?
>>10375269haha he was just joking he wants fjords trust me i am his best friend and he told me he wants fjords

holy shit since when can the looping coaster do all this cool stuff???
>>10377731since someone clicked "enable all drawable track pieces"
i just realized clearance checks were disabled damn i was almost proud of my mini suspended rollercoaster
>>10377772I really wish clearance checks could be enabled or disabled pseudo-client-side.
>>10377775i still cant get danny damberson to 7 excitement i even put some exciting dinosaurs around it and a house for them to trample but still no 7
>>10377797Have you tried water
>>10377801no but i will tomorrow thank you for the idea i forgot about water
I'm jealous of people who can design good architecture
>>10377887Just try copying my elements. That's basically what I do with Reine's anyway, and even then it's still amateurish.
>>10377797come up with a more interesting name for it
>>10378086On that note think I'm basically done with this area. Pls no interfere.
>>10378204I nearly deleted the coaster by accident. I panicked a bit.
>>10377772>i was almost proud of my mini suspended rollercoasterPost an image of it then.
Someone said they wanted a Mars map a few threads back. Mars is awful, has no redeeming features and basically i have no idea why anyone wanted this.
>>10378367The color palette is interesting, at least. But you need to compensate for lack of flora and water. Mars has mountains and canyons still, doesn't it? Snapshot those parts of its landscape. Take some mild liberties if necessary.
>>10378658fine then, it's getting renamed
>>10378665dont do that
>>10378686if you can't think of a more interesting name than "danny damberson" then leave it as the defaultyou did this shit last weekend as well
>>10378691sounds like jealousy to me
>>10378694why would anyone be jealous of a ride with a shit name
>>10378698you tell me
>>10378367>>10378576Yeah, Mars is not just a red Earth's Moon, pulverized into a plain of craters. It has ice caps and canyons and volcanic activity. No tectonics, though.
i kinda wish RCT3 caught on enough to get a multiplayer mod too, riding the coasters in first person has always been a compelling feature to me
>>10379327i remember playing a game called ultimate ride back in early 2000s that was like that you could build rollercoasters and ride them in first person
>>10379327>>10379349Theme Park World had a ride-on feature. Unfortunately it doesn't hold up well.
>>10379415The fact that it had spline-based coasters so early on is pretty neat.
>>10368572these are really good, thanks!>>10378367i like it. also pic related.
not very nice to call me a dumb fuck
>>10380304you had it coming
Any tips on what further I could do with this area?
>>10381651chairlift to other areas using the ski cars
I think the danny rides are charming, keep making them
>>10382637thank you i was just putting my name on them so i knew which rides were mine
>>10382936You can't remember which rides you made?
>>10383010just a precaution in case the park ended up looking something like this
>>10383030That's the point of having big maps, Danny.
>>10383074i meant in terms of ride density
>>10383030Good idea. I think I'll start naming all of my rides as danny damberson as well
>>10383074like if there copious amounts of rides stacked on top of each other and i cant find mine i can just go to the attraction list and click on danny damberson
>2 weeksits over
>>10383096>can only remember rides he's made if he names them his actual nameThis has to be a joke, you can't be this retarded.
>>10383110it's not that, it's just to easily identify them instead of leaving them as wooden roller coaster 4 and looping roller coaster 3 for example
>>10383118>the only options are leaving it default or your own nameI give up.
>>10383131i never said that, it was just the easiest thing for me to do. i don't know why you're making such a big deal out of this
>>10383135Because it's boring and shows no imagination. Same goes for leaving a ride with a default name.
>>10383108NOW it's two weeks.
>>10383135>i never said thatYes you did, you unfathomable retard.
>>10383172no i didn't
>>10383149c'mon, step it up

>>10383190Already gave you my answer, you just ignored it.
>add brakes before station>brake station failure contingency>ride decides to break down>break failure>wtf>now ALL the brakes are inoperable>inadvertently create death coaster>thanks B&M Rosebud, heh, more like RoseDUD
What's that big mountain slope you guys use for multiplayer? It's like a huge rectangle slope. An image would be good. I really just want to know what dimensions it has for my own map since it seems like an ok size for multiplayer
>>10383206...ly based.>>10383757Are you talking about Enlightenment from the scenario pack in the OP? This one?
>>10383829This is the one and you even managed to get the dimensions. Thanks anon, that's great. It's a really good map, the terrain is structured well imo
>Oh yeah, that exists. What's the first roller coaster type that comes to mind when you read that? For me, it's the Flying Roller Coaster. I don't think I've built it even once.
>>10383850Definitely the Flying Turns. Back when I was a kid playing RCT2 before Open existed I would always see it in the list and think "What's the point of this one?"I think it even got combined back into the Bobsled Coaster by OpenRCT at some point.
>>10383850Multi-dimension coasters are weird novelties that were left behind by the industry and I always forget that they exist
>>10383894i hate how changing the seat angle does absolutely nothing for the ride, i feel cheated
>>10383850My first thought here is the reverser coaster. I pretty much never build it, and I don't see many others building them either. I did make a mobius dueling design that was kinda neat though.... I'll have to go find it again...
>>10383578and this is why we use block brakes
>>10383829>No vertical face texturesyou have butchered my beautiful landscaping
