There must exist a hack that removes the crying sound effect. If there isn't someone should make one.

I don't even remember the crying sound because I don't think I've gotten hit once throughout the game, only died on the insta-death spikes and lava a few times.

nah, im with op. we're programmed to hate the sound of a crying baby. simply saying "get gud scrub" doesn't help anyone and is the reason yoshi island isn't as popular as it should be. there are however hacking codes to remove the sound.

this. you're not really playing the game if you've altered it like that. it's part of the game mechanic, and if you hacked out every little annoyance in any given game, you're left with a different (easier) game. and honestly, it's not that annoying unless you kinda suck. i completed 100% also without being bothered by the crying, so maybe the problem is you.
