It's a mystical action RPG. Maybe I'm just asking for action RPGs with a nice setting in general.
I mean if I were to ask the average Joe he would be like
>play the Zelda games
But those are just action games. The RPG element is missing.

Also I'm super nostalgic about Mystic Quest. I love the different locations, characters, enemies, music, the weapons you unlock and everything.
The creator said he also got inspired by The Moomins and I can feel that vibe.

I hope that clarifies things. To me this is one of the best game boy games out there and given it's release date one of the most impressive. Only Pokémon kicked it from its throne but that came way later.
Now you might say
