Sup /vr/,
I'm here because I found out I got some extra money to splooge on a game, I figure what better game to buy then a series I've never played: Megaman.

But since I'm a Faggot and have never played one of these games, I'm just gonna ask; What's the best one to play in the original 8-bit Megaman series ? OP needs to have some fun

Also general MegaMan thread.

2 or 3 is a good starting point i'd say. 2 is the most universally acclaimed, but 3 is pretty much just as good. prepare to die a lot op!

This.

Also, play 7, 8, and MM&B as well. 7 and 8 aren't as good as the NES games, but they're still a good play.

2 and 3 are the best. 3 is much harder, however.

How the fuck to people always say things like these, 2 and 3 are easy. 1, 5 and 6 I can't even make it to the Wily levels.

Even though the gameplay was significantly slower, I felt the mega ball, rush just, jet board and weapon puzzle segments added a lot more to the game than whatever 5, 6 & 7 had to offer.

2 first, and if you like it and are interested in playing another, then go 3. If you want more, 5 is good I love the RM designs and it's not gloomy and muted like 4.

If you want a paddlin' play the first.

2 and 3 definitely aren't as hard as 1, I'm not sure if I'd call them easy. MM2 on Hard is a more than adequate challenge for someone new to the series, and the Doc Robot levels in MM3 took me forever the first time around. Don't forget that OP is new to the games, I'm sure 2 and 3 will be more than enough of a challenge.

I replayed them all recently and I'd have to lean on 2. 3 was my childhood favorite but the pacing and difficulty curve get a little fucked up near the end.

I suggest the try before you buy via an emulator. That might be the best way to know your taste on these games. Heck, for all you know you might not like them at all?
2 was my first and favourite.

Start with 2 for sure. It's both the easiest and the best one. After that, play them in whichever order you want. I personally find 1-6 considerably better than 9 and 10, which conversely I find considerably better than 7 and 8. But play at your leisure.

MMX is the best game with Mega Man in the title though. I think that game is damn near perfect.

I would recommend 2, 3, 5, or 6.

Mega Man 1 and 4 are for people who have big metal huevos. (but then I never even knew the boss order for 4)
