Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis. Holy fuck this is terrible. How could they screw up a port so badly. The games laggy as crap, the jumping, oh god the jumping, and the music has been downgraded, they litterally used the GameGear's sound effects when hitting Dr. Robotnik..

How did this even squeeze by Sonic Teams quality control.

Yeah apparently both Sonic the hedgehog Genesis and Sonic the Hedgehog came out on the same exact day.

But seriously this had to be the worst thing ever created. I mean fuck, recycling Game Gear sound effects? Thats just plain terrible. And that slowdown, not to mention the screen gets all buggy when you attemp to move.

Don't forget that some random guy outdid them in a few weeks of work. Remade GHZ on a GBA so it wouldn't lag, had better music and sound effects, and added not only the spindash/spike glitch fix but also the ability to play as tails or knuckles.

It really demonstrates how much they didn't try with Sonic Genesis, or were rushed or something. How anyone could blunder that hard is difficult to comprehend.

More powerful the GBA may be, but the Genesis outputted a resolution of 320x224 while the GBA is stuck at 240x160.

This. The game runs off of the advance engine, which is essentially built to handle less enemies and moving objects and more momentum. Sonic 1 has lots of enemies and moving objects compared to Sonic Advance, and it has issues rendering everything going on, so the lag happens. Also, Sonic 1 is more platforming based and less speed based, so that's why the Advance engine fucks up the momentum.

Kega Fusion came out years later.

They did however use KGen (predecessor to Kega) in one of the PC Smash Packs released in the late 90s.

Then they wanted the author to write a DC emu for another compilation, with a deadline of like 3 weeks, which was impossible. They ended up getting another guy to do a MD emu for the DC (it ran like shit), and the guy explicitly left instructions for hacking groups on how to load any rom on the emulator.

Sega lost a lot of shit due to piss poor management and non-stop reorganizations.

However you can always have accidents. One of the Saturn games, I think Magic Knight Rayearth by Working Designs, took like 3 years to localize into English because they lost the sourcecode in a HDD crash and had to re-do the entire game.

The goth kids obviously like them. And there are more perceptions of clothing than "cool". Sometimes something is just mentally comfortable in a way that you can't really explain.
