What if Sega actually let Sonic Team experiment with the SVP and make the real Sonic 3, aka Sonic 3D? Instead of making Sonic 3 and subsequently Sonic & Knuckles.

Also what real Sonic 3D, dear Autism overload shitmask dunce? Sonic 3 takes place RIGHT after the ending of Sonic 2. What they should have done was make Knuckle's Chaotix less janky, and made either a 32X Sonic Mars, or let Sonic Xtreme become Sonic 4 for the Saturn.

nopes! Sonic 3D would've been the real sequel to Sonic 2. They had to cancel it and THEN made Sonic 3, which they had to rush for market so they only made 6 levels and then came up with the idea of a lock-on cart and worked on Sonic & Knuckles.
A proto of the original Sonic 3D by Yuji Naka is likely THE holy grail of hedgehog fans.

Sonic The Hedgehog 3D was the original conceived 3rd entry in the classic series, and it was going to be a fully 3D game for the Sega Mega Drive, using the Sega Virtua Processor chip.
