Unironically better than the first game, but that's not saying much.

levels are all gray industrial corridors

The first one was flavor of the week back in the 90s just because you could thrash whatever furniture the levels had

I finally played the first game out of curiosity. It's not bad but I prefer og Streets of Rage and Die Hard Arcade. I feel it would've been a lot better if SEGA had gotten involved like originally planned, especially if they could've gotten Yuzo Koshiro on the team. I still haven't played Fighting Force 2 or Dynamite Cop to compare them, though from what I've seen it's more of an action adventure game than a beat 'em up this time?

I like the gameplay but that's about it. I mean it sucks that there is literally no music

first game has an improved version on the n64
would've been interesting if Eidos put out more n64 games

it was a cool setting but that texas level really sullied my memories of it.

Is this game good if I just want a third person shooter action game and don't have a chip on my shoulder about it not being a beat em up like FF1?

I actually like generic scifi industrial settings so

It's alright I guess. I mean it's the definition of a mediocre game. You won't love it but you won't hate it. It looks nice for a PS1 title, but there's also a Dreamcast port.

>tfw in the demo version of the first game you could spam that AoE fist slam as the giant guy indefinitely without losing health
Man, the amount of entertainment we managed to milk out of that when I was a kid was priceless.

Anyway, I never had any interest in this sequel and found the direction they went with the series to be completely bizarre. Reviews of it in magazines at the time were “meh” as well, so I just assumed it was trash and never thought twice about it.
