Mother 3 64DD would've been a legendary game - no, graphics don't matter, I already hear your seething clickety clacks.
The first game is the best game, even if M2 is the easiest to play. GBA M3 is just another jrpg with Mother clothing except worse because it's limited to the confines of handheld game design. I read that too. But thing is that many years have passed, and no news of it. Besides, lets be honest, Itoi and its company never were that good making games, knowing how screwed was the development of Mother 2, 64 & 3; And Itoi is an ancient man so either he nominates a successor, or has to go back to work even at his old age.
So an official Mother 4 or similar game from the same company is possible, but only slightly unless the work is passed to other developers in behalf of the original devs.

Maternalbound Redux is pretty much just a QoL hack that adds things like a run button and removes the censorship/retranslates the game, while Deluxe is basically a hardmode mod meant for people who want way more of a challenge. If you just want to do another casual playthrough play Redux.

There have been a million projects over the years to try to hack EarrhBkund into being the NES one and a few projects to turn the NES one into something more like the SNES one and when GBA hacking gets better people will try to hack Mother 3 into being Mother 1 and 2.

After having beaten both Mother 1 and Earthbound, I feel like Earthbound's ending is much weaker and far more annoying to play and I honestly think I enjoy Mother 1 more despite having grown up playing Earthbound and spending more time with it.
