They were both really good games. Besides, Sonic 3D blast was some pretty impressive shit for a 16 bit console.

And you really need to look up the defenition of shovelware. Because these games were quality, they had nice levels designs, great music and didn't have broken gameplay, unless you just plain sucked at em.

Arthur's Absolutely Fun Day for the Gameboy Color. There is absolutely nothing fun about this day. You're Arthur's head on the main screen where you roam around in search of "Fun" Stuff to do in order to raise money to go to the local theme park. So the goal is getting into the theme park.

What sort of "Fun" things do you get to do might you ask? How about organizing books at your local library? Or perhaps picking up garbage in your skateboard with what seems to be the most broken controlls on the planet. Sometimes you even have to do the same tasks over and over again just to obtain the amount of stars (money in this game) needed to enter the theme park.

The controlls are the worst, especially like stated earlier, for the skateboard level, the graphics and colors are terrible and the sound effects and music are just beeps and blips, right out of the Atari 2600 or other various old systems from the 70's and 80's and what happens when you enter the theme park? Nothing, there are two attractions and they couldn't be any more boring.

This is quite possibly worse than Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Back on topic, could it be possible for a SimCity game to be shovelware?
Yes. Yes it could. Pictured here is the SimCity Enhanced CD-ROM. All of the island customization options are gone, replacing them with an unexplained "Easy", "Medium", and "Hard" option. The "Enhanced" portion of the game is a zillion live action FMVs. Each one is 320x240 (in a 640x480 window) that spends 8 ages to tell you what could be summarized in a 1/2 line text box. And they play EVERY TIME you do a specific action! They get really old, really fast. Additionally, the actual informative videos don't take up the whole CD, so they filled the rest up with 495 jillion videos of people going about their daily lives with WHU-ACKY SOUND EFFECTS! They called these "Peek views" and every so often you would "Earn one" and click a button to see the pointless-ass video. To top it all off, you can't turn the videos off.

Want a pointless remake of a game that you probably already have? Here you are.

It's funny, most of the GB/GBC games worth playing are GBC games (check any Game boy thread, and it's mostly people struggling to suggest good GB games beyond first party), but the GBC probably had even more straight up shovelware than even the GB. I associate the GBC with utterly joyless ports and games based on kids properties. The GB had it's fair share of both, but it felt more spaced out in the consoles lifespan. The 3 years of the GBC were horrid when it came to looking for good games as a kid.

I remember renting this when I was young. The weather was bad on the return date, so the store I rented it from said it was okay to keep it for another day. Even when I had no standards as a kid, I remember thinking how I wish I rented something better.

That game was tight.
Shame my nephew borrowed it from me, "forgot" it wasn't his game, and traded it in for 50 cents at GameStop. Then I found out my brother let him do it and knew all along.

It's just the fact that he knew it was mine, and traded it in anyway. without asking. and when I asked for it back the question was avoided. after months of pestering the response I got was "oh he traded that in a long time ago"

Which means the kid traded it in like the day after i loaned it to him because I started asking for it back after a month.

There were actually 3 versions of this game.

One for each of the Powerpuff Girls. They were pretty bad but still kinda enjoyable if you can give it a small pass for being a shovelware game.

I had the playstation version of these and the letter adventure (just like the number journey but with letters)

They were bad. The movement was set on a predetermined track. And the walking speed was slow as all holly hell. For "babies first game" its actually not that bad. If you are in pre school or under 1st grade its a good way to gain some kind of motor control to play games with later. My brother was addicted to them. I was forced to stop playing what I wanted if he wanted to play these.
