ASCII making a memory "card" for Famicom were really ahead of the times. You could even use Wizardly saves to transfer your party between three games.

Anyways it's a 25-30hours long RPG, you can easily beat it over the course of a week end by leaving the Famicom turned on. Game Overing "just" takes away half of your money DQ style iirc

>devs add a language selection menu to the PAL version
>users can press triangle to exit the menu and go straight to the title screen
>skipping the selection like this sets language to 0 (Japanese) but there's no relevant data on the disc, so text and voice-overs go missing, and other bugs get introduced.

Sure, its a cd game? Even if it were to write it to a memory card you can simply boot the game without one inserted

Yes, resetting lets you choose again.

>Abadox not getting an improved version in the form of a PC-Engine Hucard release.

7800 Prosystem adaptor for Atari 5200 never got a chance beyond a couple of official announcements before the Warner sold off Atari Inc.'s video game console and Computer divisions. To this day, no actual units, either broken or working, have been recovered so far.
>SNES never got an official adaptor to let NES games be played on it, nor were its innards allowing for NES/Famicom games to be played
>N64 was gypped of getting a proper chip for native processing of sound.

Ninja Rahoi does have battery save

https://nescartdb.com/profile/view/1531/ninjara-hoi

Turbofile is just extra, it's not mandatory

>> No.10176601

>>10175149
Is used for quick saves.
>An alternate method of saving - also available by speaking with a Reviving Jizo - is "Diary" saving. Diary-saving is NOT like traditional battery-backed SRAM (save-RAM, the save file that is stored on a game even when the console is turned off). It actually is very misleading in that regard. Rather, a Diary save will only function until the console is turned off completely: it remains there even if you reset. It's good for allowing you to move between save files. However, for long term play, you will need save-states or a Turbo File, or raise your electric bill by leaving the console on outright
I play it and remember I had to use save states to save the game.

This does not make any sense. If the battery is there then the savefile should be able to stay.

I guess they used the battery for extra RAM space during gameplay (many Famicom RPGs did that, using the battery as extra RAM even for things that aren't actually saved on the battery) but... if the save file is there on the battery for "diary" saves and it's gone upon turning the console off, this means that they actually DELETE it.

Somewhat already implied by others, but any game where hi-score is the main goal but does not have a battery for saving. Even as a kid I thought it was weird.

Game is short but there's so many things that hold you back from completing it quickly. Unfortunately you can't save your tedious progress due to it requiring a game pak to save.
