Might be worth asking here.

Been playing Time Crisis 2 and having a great time but I'm using the Guncon 1 for better game compatibility for PS1 and a few PS2 games as TC2 and Vampire Night are compatible with the original Guncon model. Ofc TC1 and 2 use the side button to get out of cover but you can use a PlayStation controller on the floor in order to mimic a foot pedal but this isn't particularly ideal.

Anyone know a decent diy project or method to get a foot pedal for the PS1/2?
There's 3rd party light guns for PS1 that use them but they require the use of the gun to operate them since they connect through the gun and not the console, which makes sense but I'm more so looking for something to satiate a single player experience. Closest I've gotten to figuring out an alternative is using a PS2 controller adapter called a wingman and using my arcade stick which is surprisingly efficient, but I bought a USB foot pedal for cheap to see if that would work but there wasn't any compatibility with the adapter.

Was mostly curious if anyone here had their own diy pedal or sort to mimic the arcade foot pedal.

Someone could always take a peek inside the game's files and see if there's any truth to that claim. It's probably the only way, really.
But even if it wasn't, if someone's played it, or any number of these games, and then signed up out of their own volition, then it's mission accomplished. They don't get made because they care about entertainment.

Game mostly plays things straight for the first half with normal sea creatures, but oddly attaches mythological names to bosses and mini bosses (medusa is a jellyfish). Then goes full scifi near the end.
Also man, SEGA really had the lightgun genre by the fucking balls, didn't it?
