OK, who actually got more triple A batteries back in the day just for this dead weight? Since GBC was AA based my mom never wanted to get two different types for my nintendos.

Why the fuck would you care if they have one or not? If they want rumble they can bring their own or bring batteries for it. Literally the way its always been. Same goes for controllers, byoc bring your own controller so you don't fuck mine up

No Rumble Pak but I did have a memory card... Honestly not even really sure why these existed since most games on it just used a save battery

Most but not all
Also there was a time you would bring a memory card to your friends house. More of a PS2 era thing though.

Rumble packs were fun to put on your genitals, but beyond that I have no idea what the appeal was (is). Hell, the Wii's speaker in the controller was cooler than "DUDE IT SHAKES LMAO"

i have no idea man it's been two decades now. i remember stealing batteries from the remotes all the time and my mom not exactly catching what was going on so there was always batteries around considering yknow like fucking everything used them between the stupid ass toys i played with and now the stupid ass electronic shit she was buying without really knowing what she was getting. that being said i have a love hate relationship with wireless xbox controllers today depending on whether or not i have batteries. good day if i have them in arms reach bad day if i have no fucking clue if there are more batteries. ive gone through phases of using rechargable batteries but my stupid ass can't stay consistent. motherfucking batteries!

The trick to getting away with it was to swap only one of the batteries in the TV remote at a time so it'd still work for a while and not just instantly be dead. I had a whole fucking rotation cycle going with that shit. Either that or just wait until the batteries were almost dead before swapping them all.

How poor did you grow up? I can't imagine my mother worrying about batteries lol.

Growing up, my family just had batteries and light bulbs in the closet that I could grab at any time.
